Just wanted to ask as I recently upgraded to windows 10 but for some reason these little black squares appear meaning apps like the mail app do not work as the icons are odd. URL...It spreads even more than the OS though, for example if I play Anno 2070 in full screen the game is unplayable as it has the same issue.

It says "archived" at the bottom of the email list, but other than that I cannot see any action taken. The email in question stays in the message pane and does not vanish. Is there any setting that I am missing where I can tell the Windows 10 mail app what should happen when I click "archive" in the Gmail account?
View 6 RepliesI've had win10 about 2 months now and mail app wouldn't work and weather app stopped after the first day, this week Photo app stopped and usb 3 port locked up and some games graphics were slow. I made a recovery drive on a flash drive and reloaded win 10, nearly every thing came good and then I downloaded new drivers from the OEM like Nvidia and the rest of my faults came good. This involved reloading all my pictures and music and software, it took a day but was worth it!
It seems to me that the updates from MS don't take hold until you do a reload. I received updates several times but nothing changed so try a reload of win 10 and get new drivers for what's not working.My win 10 is near perfect, I get mail ok and my games graphics are good , I do TS2016 on an i5 laptop ok.
I have the downloaded version of Window 10 . How do I find the description of what my installed Window 10 is called?
What is more, is that my Taskbar is overflowing with Icons.
In setting "combine Icons when taskbar is full" does not work.
I upgraded windows a few months ago. about a month ago my search bar and my start button didnt work and no matter what i clicked i couldnt get it to work. I wasnt to mad about that but now i cant right click my icons and ive tried restarting windows explorer and ive googled alot. Its starting to bug me to the point where it may be better to go back to windows 7 or do a fresh install to get rid of all the problems.
View 1 RepliesHaving got all of my standard stuff, including having MS Outlook handle my email accounts, sorted out; I decided to give the new Windows 10 Mail Application a try.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to do a darned thing:-
1. With my Hotmail account I get error code 0x80070032. I've tried a couple of suggested "solutions" without success.
2. With my Gmail account I get "We didn't find anything to show here" or "Still working on it". Either way nothing shows up.
Maybe I should just stick with MS Outlook.
What is the minimum I need to have set to "on" to get mail notifications to work consistently with action center? Is it possible? Yesterday I got it working pretty consistently and I thought great but today it seems to work only occasionally. I've read this is common.
I have a live and outlook email account. I have them set up on the mail app and both are set to allow a banner notification in the settings on the mail app. I also have in Settings/System/Notifications and Actions/Show notifications from these apps/Mail set to ON banners and sound.
I also have the Mail app as the default.
What else beside this in Settings/System and Settings/Privacy do i need enabled to get Mail notifications to work reliably?
I have Thunderbird which gives me notifications but I don't like to leave it on and would like it if the notifications could work.
I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago. Two days ago my computer is all the sudden automatically downloading some. Massive update that took a long time and rebooted my computer without prompting me.
After the download was complete I was able to use my computer seemingly as normal, but upon the next restart, the start menu wouldn't open, and the mouse wouldn't click on any of the icons. I tried a restart and got two pop up error messages saying something like "Windows failed to start properly." I tried a hard reboot a coupe times, same thing.

No luck. Now every time I boot up my computer it goes to the "automatic repair screen."
I have tried every option available from the "automatic repair screen" menu, including System Restore: because I just downloaded Windows 10, I had no restore points. System Image Recovery: it says have no image to recover). Start Up Repai: tells me Windows can't repair the problem. Command Prompt: I've been able to get in there but I don't really know what to do once there (tried what was suggested in the video above, no luck, everything was already set to zero) Startup Settings:WAS working, I was able to start up in Safemode once, still couldn't click anything and start menu still wouldn't work. Now when I click on Startup Settings and click the restart button to get to the Startup options it just brings me back to the "automatic repair screen" ...I think I've rebooted so many times at this point that my computer can't reboot without taking me there.
I've even tried the "reset this PC" option multiple times and every time it starts to reset, gets to 1% or 2% and then I get an error message saying something went wrong and the PC can't be reset.
Something has suddenly changed on my computer (I used the AOL Computer Checkup program yesterday but this problem seems to have started today). When I left click on the Start Button, nothing happens. If I right click, I get a pop-up menu that is different than the Start page and is all in black and white. I don't know if the right click menu was there before because I don't think I have ever tried that.When I right click either the Word or the Excel icons in the taskbar, nothing happens (left clicking still opens the app as usual). In the past, if I right clicked the icon I would get a pop-up menu with the files that I had pinned to the taskbar plus the most recent files that I had used that weren't pinned.
View 8 RepliesI liked the recycle bin icons used in Windows 8 better than Windows 10, so I changed them successfully to the Win 8 version. But, the new icons do not change to reflect full / empty even though both have been changed. The standard Win 10 recycle bin icons do work okay when I returned to defaults. Why the new ones don't change as they should?

None of the notification icons in the systray activate, so I can't access the notify center or change my wireless signal. I've seen this answered on many other forums, but none of the fixes seem to work for me.
View 3 RepliesI'm used to run files by drag'n'dropping them on top of one of the icons in quicklaunch. When I need to launch file with some app, while file is associated with another, or just use the other version of app. E.g. drag and drop png file on Paint icon or Photoshop icon, whether i need to edit it with on or another.
But now, when I drag a file of top of app in quicklaunch, icon turns to striked circle (). At the same time (what frustrates me even more), I can add a file/shortcut to qucklaunch by dragging it on the empty space (or between apps' shortcuts).
I have Windows 10 and everything was working just some time ago.
So, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.

I have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?

How do I get the icons to go back to being thumbnail images again? Is there a command or menu option that will change this for all jpgs in my folders rather than having to change one by one?

It just never finishes and never shows content. My work email does sync but not my Hotmail one (and I am logged into my computer using a local account).
