nothing works, ive tried everything that comes up in google.. every possible combination of minimise for a keyboard shortcut, and none will minimize one window !
want it as a shortcut to a button on my mouse. so tilting that you can no longer do this and it isn't an option in logitech gaming software..
Installed Windows 10 yesterday and things are just not right. I am unable to reduce window size. If I hit the reduction icon with window just goes away. I am also not able to have more than one window open at a time. Since my taskbar is also broken, I have to go back to start and find the program and open it again.
I run a plex server which periodically does highly intensive CPU Transcoding, I have found that the OS locks up if my temperatures exceed 70 C (which makes sense). This wouldn't normally be a problem but my computer takes about 15 minutes from pressing the button to settling into a stable state. To solve this problem I'd like to be able to stream SpeedFan to show me my temperatures and if possible have buttons to send commands back to the computer to turn up fans or turn down the affinity of the application (to reduce heat).
I need to share a window on my Windows 10 PC via VNC (to an Android device). UltraVNC says it can share a single window, but I can't get their VNC server to do this, only the entire Desktop.
Click a program shortcut. The app launches immediately. Use shortcut keys and it takes four seconds. e.g. - Click the Quicken shortcut: near instant launch. Use the keyboard keys specified for that SC <alt|ctrl|Q>: program opens in four seconds. Why?
This did not occur in Windows 7, 8 or 8.1, to my recollection. Shortcuts have been deleted and reconfigured.
Since I was wiping a PC anyway, I've installed W10pro x64 to decide if it could work.
Obstacle #1: I need to allocate a mouse button to switch between touch mode and desktop (wimp style) mode. What is the keyboard shortcut to bind for this? Or is there a script I could set the mouse button to launch if there is no keyboard shortcut available yet?
Obstacle #2: Persuade Logitech to make 4 finger swipe up switch to/from touch mode on the T650.
I would like to be able to rate or tag photos while I am viewing them to tag my favourites. Is there a way of creating a shortcut to enable me to do this on the keyboard rather than rating it and then pressing save (ie too many steps).
I am using the keyboard shortcut (CNTRL+WIN+arrows) to get to different virtual desktops. But I don't like the slide effect since it kinda makes me dizzy (I have issues with vertigo). Is there a way to just have it "snap" to the different desktops without any sort of transition effect?
I sometimes connect to my Windows 10 PC at my work place from home.
When I was using Windows-7(work place PC), I was able to select the menu button (lower-left) and select 'Lock Screen' menu from the shutdown sub-menu. I recently received a new desktop PC which is Windows-10, but I found Windowns 10 doesn't have such 'lock-screen' menu that I can choose with my mouse. So the only way I can lock the screen is using Window-L button which is ok when I'm at work. But when I'm remotely logged in from my home, if I press Window-L keys, my home notebook is screen locked, not my work place Desktop.
I have gone through the synaptic touch pad settings several times and and I still have to use cat paw touches on the keyboard and touch pad to keep the window from randomly zooming. Also the search window keeps popping up randomly and I have to tap the touch pad to remove it.
Last, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
Another problem I'm finding with 10 is as follows. With 7 it was easy to minimize an open program. It disappeared to Explorer and could be clicked on and restored. Under 10 you can minimize, but only the first one is recognized. If you minimized a second program it supplants the first, the first disappears they don't stack up, the first is lost. Is there a way to stack up the minimized programs so they aren't lost. It takes time to have to go and retrieve the program from Google.
I have pinned MS Word and Excel to my taskbar and when I right click either icon, the last used files are listed. On Win 7 there was a way of increasing the number of files showing on this list, if I remember well. Since I have 5 pinned files on top of the list, there is not much space left for showing other files unless I find a way of minimizing the icons on the list.
I just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 so i have a little problem in my windows taskbar . I cannot see full name of files when i minimize to taskbar.
I've been waving the flag for the new ecosystem for quite some time now. This is ridiculous. We're out of beta, you have more than enough to allocate in dev/testing/qa resources, how on earth did this slip through? Is Groove Music muting/pausing/stopping for anyone else when they minimize? I have to leave it open to continue to hear music which isn't the end of the world but this bug really shouldn't have survived beta testing.
I don't get it why but background playback stops working as soon as I minimize any music app in Windows 10. I am not sure if I messed/missed any settings. How to resolve this issue?
i have a problem with my taskbar and Browser when i search on the internet My taskbar Freeze and when it does freeze i cant press on anything the start button freeze windows media everything freezes this happens all the time and the buttons of the browser restore close and minimize freeze the taskbar works only when i press ctrl alt delete and select start task manager but the buttons of my browser close minimize and restore still freeze
Okay. I have been doing a lot of cloning and migrating an OS before but I haven't done cloning or migrating an OS from dual drives in RAID 0 mode.
It's not my PC. Is it a different approach or is it just like working on a single drive? Can Macrium handle this?
Btw, I know clean install is the best way to go, but I was told by the PC owner that she can't afford to install all her programs back due to time issues, etc.
Anyway, for one thing my start menu is stuck on full-screen, despite the fact that I never set this to happen and the settings say it isn't on. Second (and more importantly), minimizing all windows does not take me to the desktop as it should, and sends me to the start menu. It seems that the desktop is completely inaccessible, at that. It also automatically sends me to the start menu when I close the application/file I'm looking at. I can still access the files there through the file explorer (the files linked to shortcuts can be found elsewhere and non-shortcut files are in the 'Desktop' folder) ...
I am creating a task in the task scheduler to delay the startup of OneDrive for 5 minutes and it is working but when it launches it is opening a window instead of minimizing or running in background. I am using "minimize" as argument but it's not working.
What do I use to get it to launch in the background?
