in Windows 10 10586 the Virtual Memory window is missing some part of it, check it out:
I want to turn this feature off but I can't because the button to set between the different options is not visible. This visual bug happens in all versions of Windows 10 10586, and it doesn't matter the display resolution. How to fix this visual bug or turn Virtual Memory manually?
Recently i have purchased my brand new hp laptop. in my laptop - Microsoft hosted virtual adapter is missing. how can i get/install/ download Microsoft hosted virtual adapter / Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter?
i've upgraded to Windows 10 (x64) from Windows 8.1.Using HP Probook 4540s..Before, i used Virtual Machine OK ( with Network: LAN, Wifi). But when Windows upgraded 10, i cannot use Network with any options.Check Device Manager - Driver Network OK.
I'm running a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. On idle, the System process is showing a high memory usage of more than 150 MB, usually more than 200 MB. Using poolmon the pooltag SpDN showed up with a memory leak. It leads to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver, iaStorV.sys. How should I go about fixing the problem?
I have an HP DV4 Laptop(i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that came with Windows 7, I recently updated to Win10. Everything seems fine except of the high CPU usage in System and Compressed memory. I narrowed it down to the Realtek Memory Card reader. I should also mention that right after the Win10 update two Realtek Memory Card Reader entries were in Device Manager with yellow exclamation icons.
I deleted them and had Windows install the drivers from Windows updates, after that everything LOOKS fine. And there's only one entry now. After a while I noticed the fan making a lot of noise, wasn't like that in Win7.Anyway, after hours of troubleshooting I eventually came back to the Realtek reader, sure enough after disabling it CPU went to normal.I have also downloaded the newest driver from realtek site.
Win 10 Home.Upon 'restart', system freezes part way through shutdown. If I use the "Slide" feature it will shut down ok.Have already tried sfc/scannow; found corrupt files but was unable to fix. Files don't appear to be critical.
A few of us have Dell laptops (mine is 7537) are having problems updating to Windows 10.
Just after installing drivers, the screen goes black with NO cursor, the HDD light stays on solid, the computer no longer responds (there's a backlight on the laptop screen), personally, I've left mine for over 8 hours while at work, nothing happens.
Powering off and back on restores the installation procedure and it does the same again within a couple of minutes.
Powering off and back on again restores Win 8.1 where it deletes the Win 10 files and re-downloads it all, I've tried this 4 times so far.
These laptops have NVidia AND Intel graphics, all drivers are up to date before installing, there's nothing in the BIOS of my laptop to disable multi-monitor or either of the gfx cards
some people have reported they can press enter, enter their password, press enter again, wait a few minutes, then press Win+P, arrow down twice and press enter to get something to display, the majority of us do not get this though so we assume it's a different issue with ours. Everyone I know who's having this issue has the same model laptop or a Dell Alienware.
So I have an Asus u56e and when I installed windows 10, the two finger scroll stopped working and realized I had to download the new SmartGesture driver for the touchpad, but when installing the new version, it pops up with a message saying :
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I tried seeing if there was a new windows installer package, but there doesn't seem like there's any for windows 10.
I am still on Windows 7 and have downloaded the jump to 10 but not made the switch. I'm wondering when I should do that with a new build? Wipe my ssd and install 10 from seven before new parts? Make the change with the new parts in as part of the new build? Thoughts?
For some reason, some of my apps' window controls are missing their buttons (e.g. close, minimize, settings, etc.).There was once a similar incident on the SevenForums where someone had problems with their window controls not showing up, but this affects the Store apps and the built-in Windows apps as well. Of course I can interact with the window normally, but it's gotten annoying already.
Already ran the sfc /scannow tool and it didn't find any problems...
Already did register the Store and apps. That didn't work. For some reason, it only affects just apps, and not windows for Explorer, Task Manager, MMC, etc.
I was invited to download/install Windows 10 and I followed all the steps to download the files. Then I clicked to install it and it seemed to be doing it. Windows closed down and the computer restarted, but when it opened again it was still Windows 7 and there was a box up relating to Windows upgrades that that said the 'latest upgrade' had failed, and there was a button to click to download Windows 10 if I wanted to (again?!).
I don't know where all the files are that were downloaded and what I should do. I saw a suggestion somewhere that firewall/antivirus software can be a problem. I have Bitdefender, that doesn't allow you to disable it.. I suppose I could remove it completely before trying again? But otherwise what should I do? I don't want to download a lot of duplicate files again.
Last, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
I am periodically experiencing an issue where the o button starts typing itself continuously until I either restart or lock the PC. It's not a keyboard issue, since it happens whether the keyboard is plugged in or not, even with a different keyboard.
I haven't yet found a way of triggering it, but once it starts, it happens quite often after each time I stop it.
This seems to be a tedious process of going to the task view, then finding the window and right clicking and sending it to another desktop.
Is there something simpler? I was expecting a right click on the taskbar would give this option, but it does not. Is there a keyboard shortcut perhaps?
Is it possible to have a single application, for example Outlook, appear on multiple virtual desktops? I use different desktops to separate the opened windows for multiple clients. However, something like Outlook would be applicable to all clients.
I downloaded Deus Ex Human Revolution DC, and after beating it, I wanted to go in with a trainer and commit some wanton shenanigans. I'm a simple man like that.
However, the trainer, which worked before, has suddenly refused to work by giving me the "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine." prompt.
Hyper V is already off and my Antivirus is disabled + Windows Defender. It should be working no problem. Sadly, no.
How to shut off this Virtual machine or fix the problem in some way?
So I dont currently have a USB drive, however I have the ISO files for windows 10. I want to install Windows 10 on a gaming PC im going to build in a few hours. All I got to work with is a 2-Sided USB Cable and a second laptop. Is there any way I can create say a virtual USB drive on my laptop, then mount windows 10 on it and plug that laptop into my new computer to install windows 10?
1- How do you disable the login screen for the MS account? i went to netplwiz and disabled it but it still keeps asking for MS account password every time i open my PC.
2- Is it possible to use a virtual desktop on a 2nd monitor?
