Jul 31, 2015I just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 so i have a little problem in my windows taskbar . I cannot see full name of files when i minimize to taskbar.

Jan 11, 2016I have pinned MS Word and Excel to my taskbar and when I right click either icon, the last used files are listed. On Win 7 there was a way of increasing the number of files showing on this list, if I remember well. Since I have 5 pinned files on top of the list, there is not much space left for showing other files unless I find a way of minimizing the icons on the list.

Aug 16, 2015According to all I have read there should be a Properties Icon shown when you right click a blank area of the Taskbar in W10. There should also be a Task View icon to the right of the Start icon. I have neither of these. If I right click the Taskbar (blank area) I get 4 options: 1. Show app icons. 2. Show all notification icons. 3. Show touch keyboard button. 4. Show language switcher. That's it but no Properties.

Dec 23, 2015No app icons will appear on the taskbar. They show fine in the Start menu, but are missing on the taskbar. It only includes apps, no installed programs are having this issue. This includes calculator, Edge, Xbox, etc. I tried rebuilding the icon cache from this tutorial, but it still didn't work. I've included a screenshot for reference.

According to several sites I have read, I should also have a "start menu" tab with a "customization" button to change some things on the left side of the start menu, and also enable pinning things to the left side. This option is missing for me. Is this something that has to be enabled with a registry tweak?

Sep 17, 2015It's been a few days now since icons aren't showing everywhere including Desktop (really bugs me, this one), Taskbar (Not actually disappeared, but deformed), and File Explorer. I did things like calling Task Manager up and end the process of explorer.exe and run it again, no luck. I restarted Windows, yielded no results. I also tried turning the machine off and on again, to no avail.
Here are some screenshots regarding the problem I am facing.
While Desktop and Explorer are not working as well as they should, Start Menu and Tablet Mode appear to be quite fine by themselves.
My machine is running Windows 10 Home Edition, not Insider Preview. I don't know how to find the version/build numbers, but I'm positive it's the latest build available since I just checked Windows Update.

Dec 25, 2015I got a new laptop today which came with Windows 10 which I've never used before, so everything's still very new to me.
I've been trying to move files off my previous laptop which runs Windows 7. I've spent a few hours collecting everything I need onto an ext. hard drive, but once I cut & paste my files onto this new laptop, nothing shows up. The destination folder is completely empty, and I made sure while the files were copying over.
Is there anywhere else they might have gone? Luckily I was able to ctrl+z to get all my files back or else they would've been gone forever. But this time all the files reappear in the ext hard drive like they were meant to, so I'm really confused. Is it a problem with Windows, or my external?
I've also noticed that the files copy over just fine if I send them bit by bit, say, about 3GB each time? But I've got 400+GB sitting around here.
Missing Folders And Files?
Oct 23, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10 last week. I had folders and some files missing right away. I went into the "Old Windows" folder and nothing was there. Also, I couldn't go back to Windows 7 or a previous system restore because an error is all that would come up. Now, after shutting down my computer and restarting the next day, I'm missing folders. For example, I create a folder I title "Edit" for images to work on everyday (I'm a photographer), and the folder is completely missing.

OneDrive Online Files Missing
Jul 5, 2015I just signed up for the last Build of the Techincal Preview. Such big surprised I had when I saw that now the files on OneDrive that are not selected to be offline are just not there. With Windows 8.1 I had my entire OneDrive folder set online to make free space on my computer.
Did I miss any option on the settings of the operating system or the OneDrive app to make my online files still appear there?
Files Missing After Update - No Where To Be Found
Aug 1, 2015I updated to windows 10 and I couldn't find any of my files. Eventually found them moved in a folder. Once I restarted my computer, all of the files were gone and I had more storage on my computer. These are files as in music, movies, and pictures. They are NO WHERE to be found.
