Organize Folders By Their Size?
Jul 29, 2015Windows 7 doesn't let you organise folders according to their size. I was hoping that maybe 10 does? Or maybe there's some complicated reason why it can't ever be done?

View 9 RepliesSince its a windows phone using one drive how do use organize one drive do you use folders. Right now it just a long list, which I want to use it,need it to be a little easier to add things neatly. and find them.
View 2 RepliesIn W7 I have created folders in the start menu so I can organize by topic. I can't figure out if/how to do that in W10.
View 9 RepliesI would like to put the taskbar items in a specific order but don't know how to do that.
View 2 RepliesExperiencing problem with the modern apps, where the content of the app is bigger than the actual app window, so it is impossible to use it, because the controls (buttons, input fields, scrollbars are not visible)?
Resizing of the app does not work, as the content is still bigger (its wrongly resizing with the window). Even maximized app is still unusable.
It occurs mainly in the Skype, Mail, People or Calendar apps. As you can see on the Skype screenshot, as soon as app starts it shifts the skype logo to the right, and the whole content is shifted as well.
You can also see the shift bellow, as the Options menu is partially hidden as well.
Skype is impossible to use, because the text input field on bottom is not visible.

View 2 RepliesMy 32GB Windows 10 Home PC (recently upgraded from 8.1) is low on disk space. I deleted Windows.old and I have hibernation disabled. Apart from a few browsers, very little else is installed, yet I only have 11.7GB left?
One reason may be the size of the Windows folder:
Size 14.7GB
Size on Disk 9.91GB
From my calculations, Windows appears to be using the higher figure in determining available disk space.
Why is 'Size' so much greater than 'Size on Disk', can I do anything about it? I have a similar 8.1 machine, it does not have this disparity (12.4GB and 12.3GB).
What would be a normal 'Size' for a Windows folder on Windows 10 Home PC very recently upgraded from 8.1 i.e. with few, if any Windows live updates run ?
I am having repeated problems with text and folders sizes. I had set them up to suit me a while ago, but every now and then they change, apparently by themselves - perhaps after an upgrade? I certainly don't remember making any changes myself.
At the moment the folders I have on my home screen are very small and bunched up into the top left hand corner of the screen. And the text labels to the folders are almost too small for my tired old eyes to read.
How do I get the folders to be bigger, the same size as I had them in Windows 7? And how to I get the text labels to be the same size as they were before? I already have text size set to 175%.
Also, when I open a folder or list contents in some programs the text looks fainter than it should, and has a strange look to it - certainly not the same as when I was running Windows 7; it's much poorer.
How do i organize my "All Apps" Menu. Calculator, Contact, Mail, Cortana, etc ALL of this garbage bloatware is something i just want to create a folder called Microsoft Bloat and put it in there. How do i do this?
First time around, i uninstalled all of it using power shell but i ended up needing the store and one other app but W10 went retarded and didn't allow me to reinstall the packages, so this time around. I just want to organize them into a folder that i will never touch .
i don't feel like downgrading back to 8.1 which as it stands right now was better for me when using Start8.
I have the option "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar" off.
However since the last update whenever I either copy or move a file into any folder windows puts that folder under the Recent group in the taskbar.
On Windows 7 start menu you could have a folder such as EA Games and then sub folders within. For example a folder for tiger woods golf, a folder for say Fifa and so on. It seems on Windows 10 you can only have one folder level. I have tried creating sub folders but all the shortcuts within the sub folders all appear under the one top/master folder when actually viewing the start menu. Am I correct in this observation/restriction?
View 9 RepliesRunning Windows 10 (10586) and am having an issue w/ VSS storage size. I have a 250GB SSD as my windows drive and have plenty of free space (121GB).
My problem is I'll allocate something for VSS storage size. I'll set it to 22% (or anything, 10% whatever). It seems to stay at that for a short period of time, but then will shrink. Sometimes to a very small percentage and obliterate my restore points and some times even 0% (though VSS IS enabled on the drive, 0% is set as max usage)
This whole thing makes VSS virtually useless as a reliable recovery method. Is a third party program manipulating it? How I can get the Max Usage I select stick?
Upgrade to Windows 10.
One peculiar thing we noticed is that different PC's demand different size for the USB Recvery disk after the upgrade. We had a range from 4GB to 32GB. A majority used 16GB.
What is the reason for this difference.
I have just update a dell tablet to win 10. I would like to increase the screen viewing area and have auto hidden the task bar.
My question is about the 2 top bars, ( not sure of the correct names ). Can either of these bars be hidden/removed/disabled and so increase the screen size.
I know how to go full screen when I reach my target page, its just in the general viewing scenario that I wish a larger viewing size.
What is the maximum size screenshot that I can upload in a forum post?
View 3 RepliesLove the Win 10 preview. My problem is some of my icons are too big or too small. Half and half on the desktop. My fonts are so small I can hardly see them Also my icons are just about touching. Need to space them better. On Explorer the text is fine but when I go to the address bar they are so small I can't see them very clearly. I am running a L34 Ultra wide monitor at 3440x1440.
My second question is I bought an extra SSD hard drive to load the 10 preview on and left all my win 8.1 pro on my bigger SSD hard drive. I want to0 upgrade it to the bigger T-1 SSD EVO Samsung. Will the upgrade know that I want to put it on my EVO SSD?
I just upgrade to Windows 10. It worked fine at the beginning. During adjusting the settings, over sudden I found all the windows starts in full size and can not be changed, except being minimized to the task-bar.
View 1 RepliesI tried the below but the area is grayed out. What can I do? Finally, if you want to make systemwide changes to your font settings, you can do so here by looking to the toolbar on the left side of the Font control panel. For example, to increase or decrease the font size for, say, menus and icons, click Change Font Size. Choose the item you want to change, then select a size. (You also have the option of ticking the Bold box, which is actually kind of a nice tweak for things like title bars.)
View 3 RepliesI have just installed Windows 10 and am using Google Chrome with it. The tabs on top of the screen are very small and I would like to enlarge them. I have looked all over and can't seem to find out how.

View 1 RepliesWhen I first got my PC I installed RAID 5 across it. I stupidly gave Windows 30GB and the rest as storage. Big mistake I know. Now I have no room at all to update windows and cant figure out how to extend the size of the partition. I would prefer to make a fresh install and give windows around 100GB and keep the rest for storage.. How would I come around to do this without losing the storage contents
View 1 Replieshiberfil.sys size is fix.

View 3 RepliesI have minimal data per month, how do I find out how large the windows updates are? I have had windows 10 for four months and have run out of data allowance in three of those months, now I have another update about to happen and I cannot turn it off and I do need to turn off my laptop.

View 6 RepliesI am using Internet explorer 11 with Windows 10 pro 64 bit.
I am referring to the controls in the upper right corner of the webpage window (the minus sign, the overlapping squares and the "X" symbols). The minus sign and the X do what they are supposed to do. The overlapping squares symbol is completely inert when it is clicked. Thus all I have is a full screen or no screen at all. I thought this was a browser issue, but I got the same dead overlapping squares when I used a third party browser. So I am thinking this is an operating system problem, perhaps the new Universal Windows Platform. I have been using Windows 10 since August. This inability to reduce a page window size started three days ago. Could have been an update or perhaps something I did.
