I have the following problem, that the contacts app re-download and re-installs itself over and over again in the store. I have already tried:
PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + 'AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

A friend sent me an invitation to view pictures on iCloud. I cannot view the pictures without first downloading and installing iCloud on my Surface Pro 4 and also create an Apple ID. I have created the ID and while I can download and install iCloud for Windows10, I am unable to open iCloud. The error message is that iCloud can only be used on Apple devices. How to download iCloud with Windows 10 in a way that iCloud works?

I am running Windows 7 64 Ultimate and I am trying to run the MediaCreationTool64 from Microsoft. When I run it, I get message shown below.
At least it's nice to see Windows 10 is carrying on the long-standing Windows tradition of supplying useful and actionable information in their error messages.

I have a custom PC I built myself. The computer runs flawlessly while playing games or using my computer in any way. I'm having a problem though that I cant find anywhere. When my computer goes into sleep mode by its self and I come back to it later it will just be on a pale blueish screen and occasionally a pale orangy screen and it wont let me do anything. The only thing I can do is hit the reset or power button, and once its back on everything works great until it sleeps again on its own. I don't even know if its a hardware or software problem.

I have a Surface Pro that will not download updates from Microsoft. When I check for updates they are found and show what they are but they will not download. The progress bar shows 0% and does not move.I have tried the download troubleshooter and it shows that it could not identify the problem.I use Edge for browser if that makes any difference. One of the downloads is a hardware download dated 7/28/2015..I checked my history and I have not installed any updated since 12/13/2015.

I am using Ubuntu Linux, and would like to use Windows 10 on a virtual machine using Virtualbox. My computer originally had Windows 8.1, which I upgraded to 10. I then installed Ubuntu Linux, so I currently have a dual boot setup. I would like to use Windows 10 on a virtual machine in Ubuntu. Is there any way to obtain the ISO without downloading it? I tried following the instructions on this site:

Do windows OS allow downloading in background videos, files apps etc. in browser like UC etc. Do downloading gets going still if you move out of the app or close the app.
Like if you're downloading 1 Gig of movie on UC browser on android and still you move out of the app and minimize it the movie continues to download or even if you close the app the movie continues to download. Does Windows phone allow this?

Is there a way to allow Windows 10 to stay awake while downloading through Chrome, Steam, etc. and still have the option to automatically resume the sleep timer once downloads are done?
I'd prefer not to look into third-party options for this fix, but I'm willing to try anything.

I have never touched an operating system before. I need to buy an OS for my PC, but I have a few questions before doing so. Firstly, I want to buy 8.1 students as a download. Now I currently don't own a PC so I can't buy it yet. I plan to use my friends PC and download the OS. If I download the OS using his PC, will it try to install 8.1 onto his PC and override his current OS, or will the program just download without doing anything else? If it does the latter, then is it possible to just put it onto a flash drive? Or will we have no choice but to have it install 8.1 to his computer? I never thought about the OS until now.

I've been having trouble with Windows Update recently:
* Three updates were stuck on downloading at 0%
* Rebooting the laptop resulted in it getting stuck at the "Getting things ready..." screen
The fix was actually pretty simple:
1. Reboot your computer
2. Open Explorer and navigate to C:WindowsSoftware Distribution
3. Open an elevated command prompt (Admin)
4. Run these two commands:
-net stop wuauserv
-net stop bits
5. Select all files in abovementioned folder and delete them
6. Make sure to empty the trash afterwards
7. Reboot and run Windows Update again
That way I was able to fix my Windows Update process that has been stuck for more than a week now. It immediately found many more updates to install, downloaded them and installed them just fine.

My issue here is that windows update is stuck at 0% and not downloading anything.
No updates are installed yet, none. I have tried going through a long process of deleting SowftwareDistribution folder and I have used windows updatediagnostics. Nothing works. In addition to that every time at boot and before shutting down it displays "Getting Windows ready. Don't turn off your computer" for a short period.

I've discovered that the Win 10 November update is listed but is completely stuck at "downloading update" and never gets any further.
I've run "Troubleshooter" which found a couple of problems and fixed them but still no November update and i also see that the latest February update has "failed" as well.
Everything i try doesn't start the updates so i'm at a complete loss at what else to do.

After I followed these steps:
1. Go into "C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch
Windows Update is stuck at 98% download of 2,085.1MB and won't stop downloading as I have task manager on. It's been over 4.2GB download and I'm afraid to stop it.

Whenever I try to download anything with Edge it says "couldn't be downloaded". Every single time.
For example:
When I click on "Retry" it is always downloaded but replaces the "." before the file type with a "_".
This is what ends up in my "Downloads" folder.
So if I want to download anything I have to click on "Retry" and then go to my "Downloads" folder and rename "xxxx_zip" to "xxx.zip".
Is there a way around this? It is the "retry" that bugs me most - I understand the renaming so you don't run it by mistake - but both are a little annoying.
