Jan 14, 2016I have a site that was pointed to shopify, and then closed the store. Now when I try to load the new site, it always directs to the closed shopify site. If I do a dns reset using ipconfig /flushdns it will work for a while, but then always reverts back. So I have to reset many times per day.

Dec 15, 2015when open IE11 in win 10 Pro 32 bit ver.1511, it wont open all site but when i open IE11 run as admin... then works prefect. Chrome and mozilla works like a charm. I am creating prefect image from dreams for my company but IE11 is tough.

Sep 17, 2015I have an issue i can easily fix when using windows 7 IE but this edge is another issue but anyways here it goes.
With windows 7 when i have an issue with a web page that a pop up locks me into that screen and I cannot close that web window I can easily open task manager and end that 1 window without closing any other open web sites i was currently on but I can't figure out how to do the same with windows 10 edge.
With windows 10 edge i have to reboot the pc because even when ending the microsoft edge process then re openeing edge all the opened web sites are still there including the one that prevents me from doing anything as i am unable to close any of the web windows unless i reboot

Nov 8, 2015With win 8.1 all I had to do was right click the page and I was shown a small dialogue box asking me if I wanted to put the site on the desktop. Why did they change this?

Sep 16, 2015When I go to one of those sites that tells you weather the site is up or down, it states its up, so the problem must be at my end. Ran virus scan. Did one of those ip / dns flush. All other sites work just fine. No other issues. Windows 10. Generally use Firefox, but I tried IE also, same result.

Sep 29, 2015This inability to pin a url to the desktop started 4 days ago. What I have done so far. Ran sfc/scannow 4 times, scanned with Norton Security and Malwarebytes and searched in vain on the web. I called Microsoft and they did a remote connection and Would not research the problem because it works in IE and would not persue the issue further in Firefox and Chrome.

Jan 9, 2016I just reset my pc and did a clean install of windows 10. I have a maximus vi hero mobo and for the management interface driver the mobo's site has v11.0.0.1155 but windows already has it installed for v11.0.0.1157 Should I use the latest version that has auto installed or is the one on the asus website better for me? Is it more specific to my board since its from the mobo's site?

Browser/Email :: Favicon For One Site Will Not Display Only In Edge
Feb 1, 2016I have four browsers on my desktop running Windows 10; the favicon for UBC Botanical Garden Forums displays in Firefox, Chrome and MSIE. It does not display in Edge. That site gives me notifications on the favicon, so I want it to display. I have just installed Win 10/Edge on my laptop, and the favicon displays in Edge on that machine.
I have cleared browser history and cache at least 50 times, mostly several months ago, and then now when I have returned home to use my desktop. I have followed the instructions here How to Reinstall Microsoft Edge Browser - All things technical - tips tricks on reinstalling the browser, though I think it just hid it and made it reappear.

I don't understand what this means. In Edge, when I type [URL] into the url line, it downloads the image (to my downloads folder). There is no refreshing the path to the image where it will be accessed by the page.
I have searched my desktop for favicon.ico, but I have apparently nothing saved in a location that could be related to this site.
I believe the problem started when the site did not have a favicon. I was apparently the only user using the Edge browser during that time, as I seem to be the only person with the problem. It seems to me there must be a register setting that says "there is no favicon", and that setting needs to be removed. And it's only the Edge browser that works that way.

Mar 5, 2016I cannot get the My yahoo site to load on either IE or Firefox. It's supposed to be my home page and has all my bookmarks on it. I can get to Yahoo mail and sports, but the home page can't be displayed. Firefox said it was on another server and the path couldn't be completed.

When I start the system and after the desktop appears for a few minutes, I get an indication from the lower right portion of the screen that my anti-virus is off and I need to tap to turn it on.
Is this the normal way Win 10 handles Internet Security programs? I'm using ESET Smart Security 9.
Networking :: Start Menu Try To Access Internet Via Proxy?
Mar 5, 2016Almost every time I open the start menu, I get the proxy authentication popup, despite ticking the box save the details. There are also a whole bunch of potential proxy servers which can be connected to (I'm at university), and it randomly selects which one to connect to (as this would be the default for "automatically detect settings" in Internet Options.
Cortana isn't available in my country, and I've changed the search menu to not use bing to find results. I have no internet-accessing apps pinned to start. Why is it constantly trying to access the internet? Why won't it save my details after the first login despite it trying to access the same proxy? Maybe too many proxy requests lined up after each other?
Networking :: Network Settings Says No Internet Connection But Can Browse Internet
Oct 14, 2015But I'm currently browsing the internet and typing to you.
In fact - I can do virtually everything (League; Steam; Skype; etc) except use any OS feature that requires logging in -
e.g. Mail, User Accounts, Shop, etc. Then it says something along the lines of "Cannot use this service without an internet connection - please connect and try again." When I run Network Diagnostics as the prompt recommends - it says I am connected and cannot find a problem.
It doesn't always happen - but it seems to be determined on start-up. If I restart it now it might be working next launch - but 75% of the time it will encounter the same issue. It's been happening for months now but I've sort of gotten used to using my phone to check my emails - but I've now encountered an issue with one of my hard drives being unable to be searched (tried indexing, etc) and the only step I've found that I haven't tried says it could be a corrupted user account - but I cannot update my user account without "connecting to the internet". -_-
The system is up to date. No driver updates available.
Drivers :: No Internet Connection - How To Get Back The Internet To Work Again
Mar 4, 2016Working on desktop Lenova computer. I was updating the computer drivers when one of the drivers froze, I click on cancel. I tried the internet and it stated No Internet Connection. I went into Device manager and did the unthinkable. I deleted everything inside the Network Adapters, including the words Network Adapters. In other words, no Network Adapters are showing in Device Manager.
First, I would like to know how can I replace the words Network Adapters in the Device Manager menu, and download the two adapters that were there in the beginning. Lastly, how to get back the Internet to work again.
Internet Explorer And Edge Not Accessing Internet
Feb 10, 2016I am on Win 10 and can only access the internet with Firefox. When I try to connect with Edge I get the error message "Hmmm, we can't reach this page" and if I try through Internet Explorer I get "This page can’t be displayed". Chrome seems to work along with Firefox, but both will freeze quite often.

Aug 3, 2015I have a gaming pc. Core i7. Gigabyte Sniper 5 motherboard with wireless lan, ethernet and intel ethernet. So 2 lan ports and a wireless connection. My network and internet is working on my mac iPad and phone. But for some reason on my pc it is showing that the connection has internet access but no apps will work. Skype, steam, origin, i.e, chrome. I have tried everything. I can use a personal hotspot via bluetooth with my phone to the pc as it has bluetooth as well and then the internet works with no problem. I am guessing it is a hardware issue ? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it is not working.

Jul 28, 2015I'm running the RTM on a netbook and have noticed that, unlike in Windows 7/8/8.1, I'm no longer able to hit Start and type in an executable. I have a bunch of portable apps that I typically type in and pull up. Now, the Start menu search pulls up ever OTHER file except the executable. It's very annoying and don't see why this shouldn't work.
What's worse, is if I pin the app to the start menu, it doesn't search it then. Say, I pin "puttyportable.exe" as a shortcut (and rename it to just PuTTY) to the start menu. Typing in "putty" gives me nothing - just the same associated files that were in the puttyportable folder (ini files, etc).

There is no option to disable it. Is there a registry key to disable this?
P.S. My start screen is normal, not full screen.
Start Menu Search Cannot Even Find App That Is Manually Pinned To Start
Aug 15, 2015I installed Windows 10 very recently and I like it, but I have a VERY BIG show-stopper: when I try to do search in the start menu, it's terrible; it cannot even find an application that I have manually pinned to start. I didn't have any such problem with Windows 8.1. I have also installed some other desktop applications, for example GitHub for Windows, but when I start to to type "Git...", it only finds "GitHub" and it cannot find "Git Shell" and I have to go to all programs, find "G", then expand the folder for this application and run that application.

The sart menu button does not activate anything, search doesn't either, Notification bubble does not open anything either.
Safe mode produces same behaviour, I have uninstalled AVG Anti virus as some people were correlating AV software with this behaviour.
I can right click on the start button but not left click
