View 6 RepliesI imported a video to my windows 10 pc with my camera, it will play the audio but not the video.
View 1 RepliesAfter installing windows 10, I can't hear any sound from my computer, and low volume when play audio files.
View 2 RepliesI installed window 10 today and cannot play any CDas there is no sound. DVD picture is fine but no sound. My computer is a Dell PC 260 and has AMD 6450 card. I tried very hard to make it work. I don't where the problem is. I had window7 before and had no problem with any thing.
View 3 RepliesSometimes when I play videos there is no sound even though the volume is at 100% on both my laptop and the video. Is there any way to correct this?
View 5 RepliesAfter a successful upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I discovered that YouTube would not play. Fixed the video problem by running in compatibility mode .. BUT then noticed there was no sound from either speakers or headphones on my laptop. No Windows sounds, iTunes, nothing worked. Could this be a setting inadvertently turned "off' somewhere ? Up until I got YouTube working the sound was fine with Windows 10. I just don't know where to look to rectify this. Rebooting etc doesn't make any difference. I don't suspect a hardware fault, it must be an OS corruption or something.
View 3 RepliesWhen I play movies on my tablet it's all OK. But, when I do the same thing on my lap top I only get sound.
View 2 RepliesI'm running Wn10 and I would like to change some sounds. I'm running a background theme. I have downloaded a Wav file (thefreesite.com), added this file in a sound scheme (mail notification), tested it, saved it as modified scheme, but the sound doesn't play at all (when mail arrives). Is it perhaps not possible to play downloaded Wav files in a sound scheme ?
View 9 RepliesYes, I have the box checked to play sounds on startup under the sound tab in Control Panel. When I test other sounds on the sound tab they play fine.
I have noticed that Dolby Home Theater v4 did not migrate with the upgrade from Win 7.
I noticed that all the Technical Preview (Evaluation copies) updates do not contain any Windows Startup or Welcome sound. Will the final release of Windows 10 contain a start up sound ?
View 8 RepliesI updated my computer to windows 10. when I upgraded and played audio, video on local computer or on any website. I could not hear music/ sound. when I play audio file through Windows Media Player, I get following error.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
And when I play audio file using Groove Music. Can't play. We can' find an audio device for your PC Make sure headphones aor speakers are connected. For more infor search your PC for "Manage audio device".

When I go to manage audio device. I play test tone. and get message box saying that "failed to play test tone".
I just have a old Ace Aspire V3-471G with Windows 10 installed . Everything is fine for 3 week . And then one day when i restart a laptop to install some app , I heard very noisy beeping sound . And then Windows 10 starting but then immediately restart again . It keep going on like that. View 1 RepliesI can't get surround sound to work on my Windows 10! I have a HDMI Cable going from my gpu (R9 270x) to a projector, and from that an optical audio cable is being sent to my BluRay player with the speakers connected to it... I get sound from the front left and right speakers but thats it, when I go into the playback devices and configure it 5.1 surround sound is not an option.
View 1 RepliesSince I installed Windows 10, whenever I start my laptop the sound is muted by default. It doesn't happen with a restart, only when starting after a shut down.I know it's a first world problem, but it's annoying.
View 2 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 (build 10130) in a virtual machine and I noticed that the startup sound wasn't playing. The box for "Play startup sound" is checked in the Sound control panel, and I even checked imageres.dll to see if the startup sound was still there. (it still is.)
View 9 RepliesThe Conexant HD Audio Sound Driver was replace by High Definition Audio Device after i update to Windows 10 Home Version 1511 from 1011
Now if i want to plug my earphones to the left side of the computer where the audio jack socket is located the sound does not transfer to my earphones except i will change the default sound device from speakers to headphones.
How can i set it to automatically when i plugin my headphones/earphones/external speaker automatically transfer the sound to this device without changing the settings?
I just bought this sound card and installed drivers for Windows 10. (and a crapton of bloatware with UI of Win XP media player...)
Everything works well except one thing: when I change the sound (or mute) I don't see Windows 10 volume bar. I mean these:
The sound itself changes, but there is no indicator. Is there a way to fix that?
I would like to eliminate the sound when I adjust the volume on the sound icon in the lower right hand area of the task bar . Wat steps I can take to be able to still adjust the volume, but not hear the loud sound it makes when adjusting?
View 3 RepliesNo matter what I do the volume setting is always lowered at startup. I hope there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing. Could it be a Realtek setting/problem?
View 1 RepliesI was previously on Windows 7 and upgraded to 10 when the notifications came out last month. In W7 I was able to open the SOUND RECORDER program
and then record sounds from the video that was playing through the internet explorer I was using at that time. It did NOT matter which internet explorer I was using, be it IE or CHROME or FIREFOX, etc. I was previously able to open a video, for example youtube, and then record the sound that was playing into the SOUND RECORDER program, and then save that file on my desktop as a WMA.
I have not been able to find the SOUND RECORDER program in Windows 10. Is it gone? I've tried downloading a couple freebie programs that are similar to it, but they're not recording the sounds either. So now I'm thinking maybe Windows 10 bypassed or simply disregarded my sound card altogether, ? Is that a possibility?
I just installed the most recent windows 10 tech preview last night; but my sound blaster pci express sound card did not get installed correctly or something because i am getting no sound at all. I roll everything back to the old setup.
View 9 RepliesI'm using Windows 10 laptop. I can't turn on the location, because it's grayed. I tried to fix that. But I couldn't.
View 1 RepliesI went into system settings and 'network id' is greyed out and doesn't give me the option to switch from workgroup to hooking up the domain.
View 1 RepliesI'd like to enable this option, but for some reason it's grayed out Image, even if I run cmd in administrator mode. I'm using win10 home. What could I do to be able to enable it?
View 1 RepliesI just canceled my Windows 10 download request because of "Secure Boot." I find it's very disturbing to work under its conditions of inflexibility. Without an option to select or deselect, Secure Boot is an irrational restriction on the individual.
View 3 RepliesWhen I scroll to make my selection in a drop-down menu, the menu just disappears before I get a chance to select an option from the menu.
It happens over and over, even when I do my best to be quick in my selection. It is very frustrating when filling out forms, especially when unable to manually type selection in the box.
Don't know if it is related or not, but also having frustrations with keyboard... While typing, letters will not show when I type them. I must constantly be reading as I type to make sure each letter appears. Sometimes must hit the key 3-5 times before it appears.
I have a feeling this is not related to Windows 10... just thought I'd mention it too. Took me forever to type this!
