Nov 20, 2015None of these apps seem to work on my system. How to reinstall them in the latest build?

View 2 RepliesI've upgraded one of my computers from Windows 8.1 to 10 and when opening the People app my contacts do show but no picture is shown. In Windows 8.1 the People app could be connected to several social networks and pull contact info. If I access my MS account on the web, the People page still shows my social network connections, but I know that the Facebook integration has been deprecated.
View 5 RepliesI still have Facebook contact information within my Windows 10 People but I'm not being allowed to delete them. I get told that I have to remove them from Facebook first but since we can no longer connect and sync contacts with Facebook, I can't do that either. I'm setting up a new desktop PC and I really want all of that irrelevant contact information to be gone.
View 2 RepliesAfter upgrading to this build, all of the icons and notification center flicker every few seconds. When I click on the Start button, the start menu will open after a while. I've reported this to MS
View 6 RepliesI was using RDP Wrapper:
RDP Wrapper Library by StasM Corp.
binarymaster/rdpwrap · GitHub
It allows a Remote Desktop Protocol session to log in as a separate user independent of the user logged in locally. Worked perfect until the 10586 update. Now it is "not supported"
I guess I could look at Team Viewer, but I loved RDP Wrapper because it added the capability I needed completely transparently to Windows 10.
I tried updating normally using Windows Update. It fails in less than 10 seconds.
I tried using Media Creation Tool. It downloads the update, but at the end it fails again and tell me restart my PC and try again.
I tried deleting the files at C:/Windows/SoftawareDistribution/Download and then going back to Windows Update. It didn't work.
this Build is crashing and freezing in almost any game that I play or application that I use. I'm only able to use Chrome and Office properly. Everything else usually freezes and crash.
I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. Both desktop update fine to build 10586 but the laptop keep saying up to date after check. Even try Lan connection still no go for laptop to update. How to force laptop to update? All running Windows 10 Pro.
View 7 RepliesI mean the registry "hack" systemuseslighttheme set to 0, I did a fresh install of build 10586 on my laptop and it isn't working no matter how many times I try, restarting, setting it to 1 or 0 it stays white, I cant stand white backgrounds
I had the exact same build before, everything up to date so I don't see why it isn't working now, the colored windows are working though
My motherboard died, and I had to get a new one. I bought the same model. The rest of hardware on my PC remained the same. After that upgrade my Windows 10 isn't activated any more.
I don't have Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 licence, but I am early Windows 10 Insider, and I recieved free Insider builds. They had expiration date, so I had to keep ugrading to new builds, and stay in the Insider program to retain my free "licence". I was doing so, and I provided feedback to Microsoft about every build.
I was hoping that "minor" hardware change wouldn't affect my Windows 10 activation, because all Insiders should have free "licence" that is tied to my Microsoft e-mail account?
Now my Windows 10 Insider 10586 build isn't activated. How can I activate it? Shouldn't all Insider versions be free? Should I sign for Windows Insider program all over again?
People app crashes on RTM build, it opens waits at the splash screen and terminates itself. I tried the previous method, changing the contacts.txt file at AppData, but that file is missing.
View 1 RepliesWhen I click on save button the contact page closes, but the contact is not created in the contact list. I am able to create it from people.live.com and sync it back. Hard reset is the only way? Soft reset doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesI've just installed Windows 10 Build 10122 on my SP3 (finally) and I have a problem. The old people app seems not to be correctly installed and I'm not able to uninstall it...
And the new People app and Store (Beta) opens but crashes after a few seconds...
So, recently (after the November build release) I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update. After which, it seemed, my home network was thrown out of wack. I immediately rolled/reverted/recovered to previous build. But now everything is out of wack. Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing.
And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all. Most of the time It gets stuck in the "restart" progress animates (the rotating circles) and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower, with great regret and dread. Transferring files from one windows 10 device to another is a 50/50 hit or miss. I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was.
But now, not only is my wifi home network out of wack, but my computer itself is wonky. I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems. But anytime I check for updates, the newest build no longer shows up.
I don't know if this is any indication that the Messaging app on the PC will function for texts in the future or just a bug but all of my texts from one particular contact show up as Skype messages through the PC Messaging app. However, they are SMS texts and not Skype messages. This is my only contact that I have both skype and a phone number for. And it only shows texts from when I got my first WP in April 2014 to May 2014 (which is a lot of texts for this contact). The photo below is of the texts on my phone and the same exact texts with timestamps on the Messaging app for PC. I only overlaid the red bars to protect the name.
I am running Windows 10 Build 10565 on PC and Build 10572 on Mobile (However, I did see it while using the previous mobile build as well).
I just installed Windows 10 mobile (v10586.107) and I wanted to try to send a text message from my desktop through my phone to my friends. I could have sworn that I saw an article on Windows Central that explained how to connect my desktop and mobile through Cortana, but I can't seem to find it now.
Did I imagine this? Is the texting feature not implemented yet?
I was thinking it would be really great if my desktop were to inform me when I received a new message or missed a call since I hardly check my phone.
I recently deleted text message conversations and my counter got set to 1. This will neither increment nor reset. How to get this working again?
View 1 RepliesWhen i click on a phone number in an email on the new outlook app for PC in windows 10. It pops up the contact with the option to message them using "ms-messaging".
Just curious as to how long its been there? There is also the option to call the number that takes you to the store to to select an app that can do it.
I'm currently running windows 10 on a normal HDD, and I just got an SSD. My question is quite simple: If I press the "Reset this PC" on the settings menu, can I pick the drive where I install? Or it just defaults to the old HDD, where it is installed?
View 1 RepliesI don't seem to have access to my Yahoo contact list. When I use the People app, I can't add Yahoo to the account list, How can I get access to my contact list in Yahoo? If I use my Gmail account I can't find out how to import my Yahoo contact list.
View 3 RepliesI installed windows 10 and I can't find my contacts list in my hotmail
View 1 RepliesI don't receive any notification from Skype Messaging, when I receive a new message in Windows 10 desktop. How to activate it?

View 1 RepliesAfter the one month of using Windows 10, will the old Windows folder be deleted along with Windows live mail?If so, is there a way to preserve WLM, I really prefer to keep using this program.I do not know how this contact got into my address book, but I can not delete it.It is the echo sound service from skype. All other contacts can be deleted with a right click and delete, but not this one. I suppose it got added by installing skype.
View 3 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10, and now any time I create a new doc, new excel sheet, try to scan something in to folders I have spent moths setting up and organizing - all tell me "access denied", contact system Admin?
I am the sys admin, it's my freaking laptop...
I AM the administrator! So I went through the process of changing my login to the administrator after Windows 10 put someone I don't know in charge. I'm trying to re-install a wireless HP printer which worked exceptionally well in Windows 8.
When I attempt to install the printer driver I don't have permission. "Contact the administrator" still pops up!
I got an error message. saying "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client". I check the outlook option and it is set to outlook as a default program. I also went to default program in the control panel and that is also set to outlook. When I open a saved mail on m computer with an extension .msg it will get that error message.
