I tried this and it didn't work. But together with what I did next it probably worked.
Open up the folder with the pictures and click on the View tab
Next click on Options to the far right
Then Click on Change folder and search options
This opens up an options menu
Navigate to the view tab
uncheck the box that says Always show icons, never thumbnails
And Check the box that says Display file icon on thumbnails.
I am unable to resize windows in Windows 10. My only two choices seem to be to make the window full size, or to minimize it. The middle of the three buttons in the right hand corner does not work. I also do not get the little arrows at the edge of each window that enable one to resize.
View 3 RepliesI regularly print pages from a website, & with IE I was able to re-size the document to 95%, 85% etc to use less paper. I can't do this with Microsoft Edge-it doesn't give me any options to re-size the document for printing? Is there an option I am missing?
View 1 RepliesSince upgrading to Win 10, I have a couple of issues. Note Pad...it fills the entire screen and it won't resize. Whole screen or minimized....that's the extent of Note Pad. The calculator is the same...full screen only. I worked around that by downloading the win 7 calculator.
View 4 RepliesI downloaded Windows 10 on release and despite its flaws, I actually like it.
I am finding an issue with Explorer though. I've noticed that the preview image icon for folders doesn't resize itself to fit within the folder preview section, so if the image I want to show as a preview on that folder icon is tiny, it'll show as being tiny in the preview with loads of blank space around it, for larger images it does seem to fit in, though if the image is longer than it is wide than it'll cut the bottom bit off. This wasn't the case in previous versions of Windows and I presume it can be tweaked in the registry.
I'm using a 4K monitor and Microsoft have improved the scaling in this OS, but it's still not exactly brilliant. Third party software is the main culprit tbf.
Every Time I try and "Save" a KS Writer Doc' the "Save to Folder" that opens Has Just Got Bigger and Now it s "Sized itself" to Nearly Full Screen Size and I cannot Size it Or Move It > Eg > I Right Click on Top of the Folder > Drop Down Menu Say s > Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize or Close, I cannot Re Size the "Folder Perimeter" Nothing Happen.
View 2 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7; the image that is displayed has never fit the size of the monitor (technically it's a TV, but whatever). I always would use Nvidia Control Panel to resize the image to fit the monitor, but it wasn't updated for Windows 10 (or 8 for that matter), so there is about an inch border of the screen that I can't see. I have a Nvidia GTS 450 graphics card. I was wondering if there is some way that I could resize the image or not. I also tried to go under display settings, but for whatever reason, the section where I can change the resolution is greyed out.
View 1 RepliesWhen Windows 10 is functioning normally, you can hold the Windows/Start-key down and press the arrow keys to move and resize the active window.
(i.e. Start-key + left moves the window to the left half of your screen;
Start-key + right moves the window to the right half of your screen;
Start-key + up maximizes the window to the full screen;
Start-key + down minimizes the window to the taskbar)
Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
At work I extensively use a Flash-based control panel provided by one of my company's business partners. I typically run Firefox to display it.
I've recently switched to 4K monitor and the panel has become unreadable as the font size is constantly the same as in my previous (1920x1080 resolution), meaning way too small to be easily read in 4K resolution unless using a magnifying glass...
I'm aware of the fact Flash objects are virtually impossible to customize, but noticed a surprising thing when run the panel in Internet Explorer (v. 11.11.10586) - it actually gets resized together with a page and this applies to panel font too! At the same the panel displayed in Firefox is completely immune to any size changes, just other elements (non-Flash) of the page can be increased/decreased.
The tiles I've put on the start page for various apps (all resized to small) and arranged in groups are rearranging themselves randomly and resizing to medium each time I reboot. I can't find any reason for this. Also, is it possible to start more than one app at a time using the tiles? I've tried searching here and using Google but nothing at all comes up.. It's a clean install after upgrading.

View 9 RepliesWhen I use the Edge Print function the pop-up is too large so the PRINT "button" is partially covered by the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to make the pop-up smaller. I am using a Lenovo G555 upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Since the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen is covering the PRINT box I have moved the Task Bar to the right side of the screen. I was not able to resize the pop-up vertically so moving the Task Bar to the side allows me to access the PRINT box.
I have two hidden object games that has a screen that is to large and some of the objects are out of site on the sides. I tried setting the resolution smaller, but that just made the screen smaller and objects are still hidden. When I remove the check mark from full screen, the screen is to small to find the hidden objects. The game worked fine on my 19" monitor, but not this larger one.
View 2 RepliesI can't believe I can't find this solution online. I've seen like 8 tutorials and none of them have worked. I have my Surface Pro 2 and 4, and basically, I want to make it more touch friendly. For the last 2 years I have been going into a folder and making it "large" or "medium" icons; but I did it for the same folders every time. Now, I just got my Surface Pro 4 and I just want ALL the folders to be like that by default and change the ones I don't want when I need it.
How can I do it!? Most places on the net say "right click folder, customize, optimize for pictures" and apply to all subfolders, but it doesn't work on my desktop, my surface pro 2 nor my surface pro 4. So... how can I achieve this?
I have 6 user profiles on my Windows 10: One is 72.1GB in size, another is 39.0GB in size, one has a ? mark, one is 58.2GB and one is 11.4GB. The smallest one is the Default Profile at 2.12MB. Why my user profiles so enormous?

View 1 RepliesI have two excessively large system files located in C:Windows:
{2FD0AD83-973A-11E5-B6B9-ACFDCE21931D}
{2FD0AD87-973A-11E5-B6B9-ACFDCE21931D}
The first is 43.4 GB and the second is 26.6 GB. Together, they constitute 30% of my total disk usage or over 42% if you ignore my Linux VM.
Standard questions:
- What are they / what do they do?
- Why are they so big?
- Can I delete them?
I'm Running Windows 10 with a clean install originating from a late insider build. My present OS build is 10586.36. More information is available upon request.
I'm on Win 10 pro with all the updates installed. I just did a clean install today think something went wrong but the problem has not stopped. The system is pretty much like new with barely any programs installed and the problem still happens. I'm using Winrar 5.21. When I try to extract the 6GB rar file, the system suddenly restarts. Also when I'm trying to build previews/analyse a large amount of files in Adobe lightroom the same thing happens. I'm assuming that any app using a lot of RAM/CPU will exhibit this issue. I suspect I have a hardware RAM or CPU issue and that it may have gone bad. How do I check my hardware first? I'm certain it isn't a windows issue because the moment the os booted to the desktop itself I check the rar file extract and the computer abruptly restarted.

I have a large number of TCP connections open even immediately after a reboot. It's normally around 200 with only Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Know Brainer, Norton Security and my VoIP phone (X-Lite) along with a few other minor programs and normal Windows 10 background tasks running. I run Malwarebytes regularly and never find anything wrong and have Norton Security set at maximum levels. I'm attaching a file from TCPviewer that was taken immediately after a reboot as an example.
View 3 RepliesI love Windows 10 but this may be the most annoying feature so far for me and I have no clue how to turn it off. I've searched online and all results concern windows 8/7/vista... and not only were there no real solutions but there is nothing about Windows 10. Never encountered this in Win7 (and never used Win8).
the problem here is I can't see where I'm dropping the files, I use the list view and manage a lot of files this damn icon hides the folders!
I upgraded to Win 10 and when I go to the Control Panel, by default it opens as Large icons. I change it to Category as that is how I want it to open but it keeps on defaulting back to what I don't want.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create some custom buttons for my PC using Rainmeter, and part of what I need is high resolution/quality icons from the programs I use. I notice that for quite a few programs, since I've set my icons to large, come up very nicely on my desktop, but I can't seem to find them of the same quality on the Internet. So, how can I take whatever file it is that creates this icon, and convert it into a high resolution jpeg or png file so I can edit it?
