Screen Goes Black And Fans Starting To Make Weird Sounds
Aug 8, 2015
I just updated my pc to windows 10.when i am playing game like CS:GO and GTAV from steam, every time i quitting the game or minimizing it. my whole PC crashing, the screen goes black and the fans starting to make weird sounds. and then after 10 secs its restarting and coming back to the normal windows (no safe mod etc).my specs are i7 4790 8GB ram gtx 780.
I have a ASUS N53S and after having upgraded to windows 10, I came across a few issues. The update when well and windows 10 is working on my laptop, however, I have an issue where I am presented with a black screen when i start my computer. I do see a ASUS screen and a windows boot screen before it goes black, however after the windows boot screen passes (the one with the blueish window icon) the screen goes to black, but it is still on (meaning the monitor is still turned on just not displaying anything). This issue occur after i restart ( few days before doesn't on the laptop). I try to on and off the laptop for few times but still the same problem and the last time i restart again and left it for a night and it doesn't change which still in black screen. So, now what should i do to let it display with desktop since now still in black screen with movable mouse.
My computer restarts after i start a game. It worked just fine a few hours ago but suddenly my pc just restarts after a start a game, it has restarted on Warthunder and CS:GO and when it restarts I don't get a error message or anything, it just black screens and starts over. And I've checked my components temperatures and they were normal so i really don't know whats the problem.
I have a new HP Envy M7 laptop running Windows 10. I have an odd problem where all the stock windows sounds are distorted as if they are being unnecessarily amplified. All other sounds, such as videos, music, movies, etc, are all completely fine. I've tried looking through the windows sounds area, looking at the device properties, and also at the 2 different volume control areas with no luck.
When i say 2 different olume control areas, i mean the volume control icon in the taskbar tray, and also the "Bang & Olufsen" sound control icon in the taskbar tray. Bang & Olufsen apparently provides the audio products for this machine? Anyway, i can see anyplace where the windows sounds are being amplified.
I use four monitors on my system. Win 10 Pro x64 (actually every version of Windows) seems to start apps in the last monitor the app was closed in. I would rather specify which monitor to start an app in. how to do this?
I'm running a custom built PC with win10 and an ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard.
I did a free upgrade from windows 7 ulti to win10 pro, everything was smooth for a month on win10, and the whole year prior with windows 7, it was built within a year ago.
So these updates appeared in the win10 update section:
Intel - Other hardware - Intel® Xeon®Â E7 v2/Xeon® E5 v2/Core i7 Power Control Unit 2 - 0EC2 Intel - Other hardware - Intel® Xeon®Â E7 v2/Xeon® E5 v2/Core i7 Power Control Unit 3 - 0EC3 Intel - Other hardware - Intel® Xeon®Â E7 v2/Xeon® E5 v2/Core i7 Integrated Memory Controller 0 Target Address/Thermal Registers - 0EA8
As well as many more.
I clicked to install the updates, then nothing happened, i let it sit over night, woke up still nothing. Restarted my PC and boom.
Asus bios screen says CPU overheat/CPU fan not working. I ignored them so it would boot and here I am. I included a JPEG of speedfan's stats on my PC, showing no fans operating, as well as high temps on core 0 and such.
I then worried maybe it's unsupported and I made a rookie move doing that update. Sure enough I went online and the ASUS website indicates no support for win10 64 bit drivers for my motherboard.
Now I'm wondering how to undo such a thing, I really don't want to use windows restore, as it says it will erase ALL my apps no matter what. Which is strange to me as windows 7 was able to revert back without getting rid of a single app. I'm also wondering if there's another restore function I'm unaware of that doesn't require deleting everything I've installed app-wise.
I upgraded to Windows 10. The entire screen shows up in about 75% of my monitor with the rest black. It's not that the fonts are too small, it's just that it makes my monitor look a lot smaller and I cannot seem to get it to fill up the entire monitor like Windows 8.
My computer randomly freezes and the fans pick up speed. I cant do anything but hit the power button or restart. its really irritating because I am a gamer and it interferes a lot ...
If I press the shut down button my laptop goes to the "Shutting down" screen then the display turns black, but it doesn't shut down. My connected mouse's lights turn off but I still hear the CPU working, the fans spinning and the laptop light that shows that it's turned on is still on. This problem started happening since 2 days ago.
I upgraded from windows ultimate to windows 10. my computer boots through everything and finally brings up my old windows 7 desktop screen and then everything goes black, but mouse shows up on black screen. Is this a driver problem with windows 10? However, before the black screen appears the new start button and screen appears as the windows 10
I have an HP Pavilion with Windows 10. I'm pretty basic with computers, and I don't know how to make a home screen icon for a website. I go to a website that I like, usually on Chrome, and now I want it to be an icon so I can just click on it tomorrow.
My computer used to go to lock screen after a while, but has stopped recently. I can't find out where the setting is that adjusts this. When I poke around in lock screen settings (personalization > lock screen> screen timeout settings) I can indeed make the screen turn off after a period of time, but it doesn't go to the lock screen. If I wake up the computer it just goes back to the desktop. What am I missing?
I did a bit of research and this seems to have been an issue for a while, or has been in the past. Was upgrading to windows 10, I first had to restart my pc cause it was initially stuck on that preparing to install problem with the green bar being stuck around 25%.
It then got through that and began the installation process with the big circle and rebooting process. However around 91% when I last looked at it it was just black screen, this stayed this way for about 3-4 hours. I then decided to reboot the pc and it has now booted to the login screen. Is this a known bug or could there be a possible issue?
The problem seems a bit different as some people I saw have had to fall back on PC restore points etc. So not sure if it installed or what could be the problem.
Also side note, I upgraded my pc when windows 10 first publically released, but rolled back because I had about 5min shutdown times.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge with an Intel I5 processor, 64 bit with no hardware upgrades (stock). I had accidentally stepped on the screen (fell off my lap and then crunch) which was mangled beyond repair, so I have been using it similar to a tower, with a VGA and/or HDMI connected monitor (my HDMI cable went bad, I picked up a new cable but hadn't hooked it up to the second monitor. I started my free upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to 10 last night. I woke up to the black screen/mouse pointer issue which is what brought me to this thread. I tried the recommended fix:
1. Hit ctrl, type in password and enter 2. Win Key + P + Down Arrow. (Win Key + P only seems to do the same thing)
This brought up options to
1. Disconnect projector (Tried this and lost connection to the VGA even after reboot) 2. Duplicate (Screen is still black with mouse cursor, but I saw a little bit of red and blue pixels at the bottom where the task bar should be until I disconnected and re-connected the VGA, then it was back to black screen and cursor) 3. Extend (still black screen and cursor) 4. Connect Projector (still black screen and cursor)
I'm not sure what to do. I must have some OS installed, because I am able to also perform these operations from my USB Keyboard/Mouse. I'm just not sure how to get Windows back on my VGA connection (I haven't tried HDMI because I did not have it connected when I ran the update.) I thought Duplicate displays would do the trick, but apparently not. For as beat up as the laptop is on the outside, the hardware performs fine. I also have a 2nd laptop (work laptop, also a Lenovo W541) that I can use if any solution involves downloading something bootable.
When I log in, I want to go directly to the start screen rather than the desktop and having to click the windows icon/button.I have tried right clicking on the taskbar->properties->Navigation Tab and the only option there is the option to replace command prompt with windows powershell.
I have tried setting the group policy User Configuration->Administrative Template->Start Menu and Taskbar->"Go to the desktop instead of start when signing in" to both disabled and not configured with no effect.how to get the other options to show up in the Navigation Tab of taskbar properties or how to set the start screen as the default when signing in?I am on Windows 10 Pro build 10240, upgraded from 8.1 Pro and am logged in with an administrator account.
Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
When I boot up my computer (to windows 10). It will do the Asus splash screen then instead of going straight to windows if does this black screen with the kinda terminal thing (with no writing/text) then goes on to windows. Does this affect my computer?
win10 after showing logo black screen take 2 to 3 mintus to show welcome screen. amd radeon dual graphic card 7400+6310 driver amd site shows it a latest updated driver ...
Okay so I updated from windows 7 to windows 10 i have these black bars around my screen instead of a full screen so I tried changing the resolution because it was set to 800x600 so I change it to 1920x1080.
The black screen occurs before login screen. It happens randomly. I have to move the mouse (haven't tried pressing keyboard) and it will show the login screen and windows will continue normally. On my device driver it shows only 1 display adapter that is NVIDIA GTX 970. My motherboard is H87-PLUS and its specs shows that it does have an Integrated Graphics Processor.
Tried installing Intel Graphics Driver but just shows 'This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software.' Tried disabling the lock screen too but its not working. Tried putting PCI-E as the default graphics in BIOS but its not working either. how could I prevent the black screen from showing up again?
