View 1 RepliesI just downloaded the Microsoft authentication app that have the approve or deny button for two-step verification on android. However on windows mobile I only find the app that sends you the code. This is sad because the android app makes it so much faster than looking up code and typing it. I might be missing something in the store or is this the case of creating better apps for android and ios?
View 8 RepliesWindows mobile for phones is currently at build 10134 (according to the latest leak) and the desktop version is at build 10135.
I find this interesting because Microsoft was so behind with their mobile builds vs the desktop. Could this mean Microsoft has played caught up internally with the mobile build?
I don't know, but I would like to start seeing universal updates to universal apps, instead of apps updating separately for desktop and mobile.
Just thought it was interesting to bring up - especially since we all want more stable versions of Windows 10 mobile, maybe it means the core OS is even closer to the desktop version.
I am running windows 10 pro and now i want to update my system using "Windows Updates". The problem is that Windows Update is showing numerous new updates for the system but i have a mobile broadband (ie. usb dongle type) for internet purposes over which i want to download all the system updates. but the updates wont download maybe because Windows 10 has set this connection type as 'metered'.
Whats even worse is that the metered and non-metered choice is grayed out and i cannot change it. I then tried the command prompt method described on this site. it momentarily does change the mobile broadband connection as 'Unrestricted' but STILL windows wont download any updates over this connection .
I want to know HOW to download updates through Windows Update application using my mobile broadband connection.
editing the relevant registry entries to force Windows use mobile broadband for Windows Updates?
PS: I don't have ANY other source of internet ie. Wifi or Ethernet.
I am using a Samsung Slate 2 64 Bit. Since upgrading to Windows 10, it will not print. The paper feeds as if it's going to print, the power button begins to blink slowly as if it's spooling, then nothing. It eventually times out and I get a print error, sometimes it tells me that there is no driver. I have updated the driver through the HP website, I've wasted countless hours online with support controlling my computer. I've had 3 technicians from HP just disconnect and not say a word because they can't figure it out.
My BT is working fine, I've checked. The printer works as it should with a wired connection. I have bought another identical printer and the same thing happens, so I know my printer is not broken. One tech told me that the print spooler isn't running, and indeed sometimes it does stop suddenly. What does happen is that I hit print, the printer does its typical "nothing", the paper feeds and everything stops until I reboot. It will not even allow me to delete the print job until I reboot. As soon as the computer shuts down, the job will print. I've read that there is an issue with the print spooler for Windows 10. I cannot seem to find any updates with a fix. My only solution I can see possibly is somehow go back to Windows 8.1 until Windows 10 actually works.
Well, When I set a location based reminder in PC in cortana, does it remind me when I take my phone there? I use both the OS with my same hotmail id.
Or is it like PC based reminders, will be noted only when you take your pc to that location?
Can stream audio over USB on windows 10 mobile? I want to get an external DAC and feed audio into over USB... (not mass storage mode though) just want to check if it might work.
View 3 RepliesYou know in it's counter part either Windows 10 or even Windows 8.1... You can select which Apps to use and it's a lack of experience, I have had some problems in WP8.1 because of I use certain Apps and they "read" PDFs however they can't and each time that I open a PDF, I must open it from the App because of if I use a file manager always I need to choose which App I want to use. I hope it's going to be solved! Or at least they could add a tick for remembering our options.

View 2 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 now and I haven't been able to connect to my Lumia 822 (WP 8.1) using internet sharing. I click on connect on Windows 10, and then it says "Can't setup mobile hotspot".
View 10 RepliesAfter updating windows 10 mobile, some of my apps are not opening and I had to uninstall and reinstall some of them. Not all the apps can be done by that way. If I do that, I will lose all the data stored in those apps.

View 1 RepliesThese are my PC Specs:
CPU: 5960X
Mobo: ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME
GPU: GTX 980
RAM: 16GB 2800 XMP
I booted up my PC and not only did it not display the BIOS, but the post beep did not sound. I hear another beep normally, but I think that's related to an overclocking error when applying the XMP profile for my RAM. When my computer gets into Windows 10, my resolution is a 640x480 and it doesn't display my GPU, instead it displays a mobile PC display. How did this happen? I have a 27" monitor at 60 hz. It literally changed overnight, and I can't seem to find System Restore. I don't think I'm automatically booted into safe mode.
Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have been unable to download photos from my mobile (not a smartphone just a Nokia with keypad) and my Sony camera. I always use one of the USB slots on my PC or a dongle on my desk which is attached to the PC and I keep getting a message saying it doesn't recognise the source. I am completely at a loss as to what to do next.
View 4 RepliesEver since i updated my windows 7 to windows 10, i am unable to use any of mobile's Wifi-hotspot to use internet on my laptop which i used to do earlier hassle-free.
Now whenever i try to connect my laptop to a wifi-hotspot of any of my mobile phones the laptop seems to connect with it and also shows 'Internet Access' sometimes (or Limited Access most of the times) but when i try to open any of the websites it doesn't open.
How do i connect my laptop (Win10) to a portable WiFi-Hotspot?
I have never needed the ability to lock a few apps before and now I need it. I have looked at a few applications in windows phone 8.1 and they only lock the app from the start screen and we can still access the apps from the apps list?
View 1 RepliesI want to know how can I make a line break in Word universal app (on Windows 10) ? When I press return key, that makes a new paragraph (skip a line).
Usually , with the classic Word (desktop), we can press SHIFT + ENTER return to the next line but that is not working on Word Mobile universal app. How can we do that ?
I have tried many things, including removing keyboard and language.
View 2 RepliesI'm using Windows 10 Mobile on Lumia 925 and am unable to send or receive MMS (text messages containing images).
Mobile internet is working, as well as normal text messages but whenever I try to send a message containing an image, it simply says "failed - tap to try again". Of course, I can try again, it still doesn't work.
APN settings are ok.
Note that on Windows Phone 8.1 I had no such problems on the same phone. This is Build 10586 but it already didn't work with previous builds.
I just started using the fast build of the windows 10 mobile of my Lumia 1520. I want to set the text message alert to a custom ringtone but i can't find anywhere to change it.
View 1 RepliesWhat kind of file types are accepted in Windows 10 for mobile for installation? Can it install android APK files or just the appx files? And should the apps be downloaded only from store? Or they can be downloaded or taken from other devices?
View 1 RepliesHow to get Groove to show Artist photos in the PC version? They show fine for most of the artists on my phone, but not the PC app. :S I even tried enabling the metadata setting and that didn't work.
View 1 RepliesI have my phone running windows 10 and I don't know why the internet data is not working. It keeps telling me that there is an error with the access point, it says that turning off and on the phone would solve the problem but i have done everything like a thousand times and nothing happens. I can't be on wifi all day.
View 2 RepliesLooks like this feature has been removed. I will be traveling tomorrow. Screenshots if this is possible.
View 1 RepliesSo I was excited to get Windows 10 today and try out Cortana. I do have a Lumia 1020 and I do use Cortana frequently. I wanted to see how fast she could sync between PC and phone. I asked Cortana to remind me to buy milk in five minutes. After five minutes she did remind me, but only on PC. I checked my phone and there were no new reminders. Maybe I need to log out of PC???
