Trusted Installer Will Not Delete Internet Explorer
Dec 21, 2015
trusted installer will not let me delete internet explorer..I want to delete it because it apparently has conduit infecting it winpatrol and Malwarebytes find it and take it out but it is still there apparently reinstalling itself
I am on Win 10 and can only access the internet with Firefox. When I try to connect with Edge I get the error message "Hmmm, we can't reach this page" and if I try through Internet Explorer I get "This page can’t be displayed". Chrome seems to work along with Firefox, but both will freeze quite often.
My hosts file grew to 900mb because of a n00b programming mistake. This caused the internet to be unusable. When I try to edit/delete it, it says Cryptographic Services is using it.
I have read I guess all over the net how to delete temp internet files, I have tried everything inc CCleaner nothing seems to work, and I notice that people have written from about august 2015.
Am using a new dell xps 8900 desktop with win 10 pro, am I right to think there is no none workaround unless you reinstall win 10?
I cannot seem to delete files when I'm doing a regular search in windows. I can go to any folder and delete files, but I when I see the same files in a search result, pressing del does nothing and when I right click, I have no option to delete them like I do when I'm just viewing a folder. Am I missing something completely obvious here? Is this really a feature or a bug or what?
I just bought the computer. I'm trying to upload my camera to it. I keep getting the message "not trusted, app blocked,an administrator has blocked you from running app"...
Are there any way to get this camera uploaded to my computer? I don't want to have to buy a new camera. It worked just fine with Windows 8.
Cannot move, copy or delete folders in widows 10 file explorer. I get the message "cannot find item This is no longer located in F:video. Verify the item's location and try again." Does not matter which drive or which folder, this is always the result. I can however click on the folder, open it and move, copy or delete the files inside the folder. I am then stuck with empty folders all over my computer.
I have been using Windows 10 for a number of months without this issue, just stared happening this morning.
I tried to download a RAR file from a trusted web site but the file is blocked from down loading it keep coming up that the file has a Virus in it, I contacted the Admin of the site they say the file is fine so why is windows 10 Blocking a trusted web site Downloads ? [URL] ....
I open google chrome and it open after that I search anything and its open but then it give google chrome has stop working and its close. The same thing happened with opera and Mozilla Firefox.
I just got new computer with WIN10. Before that I use win7. I want to set Internet Explore and Google search as my default to use on the internet. Can I do that and how to set it up.
A friend that has a 64 bit version of Windows 10. He likes Internet Explorer better than Edge. I have set Internet Explorer as the default browser. In the search bar I typed in Internet Explorer and put a link in the taskbar.
This works fine with my personal computer but on his computer it continuously has a message open that says Internet Explorer has stopped working. Wants you to close the box.
Here are the things I've done:
1, Went in to Internet Properties and reset Internet Explorer. I did this through the control panel. Reset everything. No success. 2. Went in to Windows Features. Unchecked and then rechecked the Box that lists Windows 11. Restarted the computer. That was supposed to correct it. No success 3. Looked in Add/Remove programs and found no listing either in programs or windows updates.. Nothing.
If I do a system refresh will this correct the problem. I see I would have to reinstall Office 2010. Not sure my friend can find his copy. Is there not a way to just download Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 10 and over right what is there.
I know a clean install of Windows 10 gives you the Edge browser, but what happens to IE 11 if you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10? Does the upgrade keep your previous version of Internet Explorer and give you the Edge browser or is the previous browser removed?
I have an app that requires ActiveX and on a fresh install of Windows 10 I was able to download IE 11 and access both browsers. It would be nice if the Internet Explorer instance is left installed on an upgrade.
I managed to see my friends Windows 10, Home edition, manage to get another problem now.
I did try to change the default browser i.e. change Windows Edge to Internet explorer.
However when I clicked on change browser, internet explorer was chosen, nothing seem to have changed, all I seen was edge browser.
There was no IE11 in the open All Apps.
When I went to Microsoft webpage to download internet explorer 11 a message said I have the latest Internet explorer installed.... still cant get internet explorer to become default web browser.
I successfully installed 14257; however, I have nothing but problems with it. I cannot get Internet explorer to work. It freezes up, cannot use the back or forward arrow, cannot change addresses, and at one time I received an error message saying something about a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error message. I looked in my installed application files, Visual C++ is there, I ran a 'repair' on it, and the repair reported it installed without problems. I also cannot open most of the windows applications (Edge, Feedback, etc) then I cannot open any applications as the 'window' button freezes up. I have been able to run sfc /scannow, which reports no issues found and all system files are intact. I am destined to scrap the insider preview on this computer. It works on my laptop but the laptop is too slow and cumbersome to use. while Internet explorer will not work, it does open and I can view web pages but only those that are already on MSN (my home page). I cannot resize IE, nor can I move it anywhere else on the desktop.
Update: I went to Microsoft, downloaded Visual Studio C++ for Windows 10 that didn't get installed. The install seems to have corrected my problems. I can now open IE, EDGE, Feedback, and my start button works again.
I have 1 desktop and 2 All In Ones which I am trying to configure to W10. I just changed the desktop to IE using the switch under the three dots where it says open with IE. I tried to do the same with this AIO and that switch doesn't work. I attempted to reset the default from Edge to IE but I can't find a IE default.
This seems to be happening to quite a few people on Windows 10 it seems. It has started happening to me too lately. It happens when, say, I have one tab open to the forums, and I open another to get an image from Bing Images to make a point, or just for fun(those who know me, know what I mean, when I use GIF's), I download the image fine, then either switch tabs back or close the Images tab, then BAM: "IE has stopped working collecting information".
So I looked at the crash logs in Reliability History, and found out that it's iertutil.dll that seems to be the culprit:
Normally that could mean either the .dll is corrupted and needs to be replaced, OR, somehow got moved to the wrong place(accidentally drag & dropped while "surfing" File Explorer, happens to me sometimes), and needs to be moved back.
So I tried going into File Explorer and and searching the Windows folder. After about 8 minutes it was still searching (Hello! I have a Samsung 850 Pro I expect a little more speed !!!) . So I opened up UltraSearch, pasted "iertutil.dll" in and immediately got this:
as you can see, the path(s) are correct, but I see there are a few WinSxS files also. There could be a possible corruption there, is what I'm hoping.
What I'm going to try, is, cleaning out the Side by Side folder so well as I can using Disk Cleanup and the Extreme version of SFC-DISM:
Internet explorer 11 will not open, did an upgrade from 8.1 to 10 home edition. I have run a repair install & dism /restorehealth , unchecked ie 11 in programs & features rebooted and still nothing.
I use my computer in a business. For one of our companies I have to use Internet explorer. When I go to the form I want it takes me to the edge browser for some reason and it not typeable. The other two computers in our office work just fine.
I need to be able to automate some settings in Windows 10 for our organization. I am looking for set the Default Browser to IE11 instead of Edge using the registry.
I upgraded to Win10 yesterday, with no problems. The problem I am having is prolly minor to some. I primarily use Google chrome browser, and rarely IE. I noticed my problem first in google chrome. I have a screenshot of it, but not sure how to upload it into this forum.... keeps asking for a URL. So far, I've tried fixing the issue through Internet Options, and through settgins in google chrome.
