View 1 RepliesI am eligible to use Office 365 Pro Plus through my University and was able to use it with no issues on Windows 7, but upon attempting to install the programs on Windows 10 I am unable to activate the programs through the Microsoft Activation Wizard. I consistently receive error code 0x8004FC12 and am unable to continue with the activation process.
I have run sfc /scannow and even did a fresh install of Windows 10 to no avail. I've also tried the quick repair and online repair options using Add/Remove Programs with no success and I keep getting the same error. Running as administrator also does not solve the issue.
From what I remember from installing on Windows 7, I did not even need to undergo the activation process and the programs worked perfectly after installation, so my guess is that the programs are unable to connect and validate my license for some reason. I have tried disabling antivirus programs but this did not work either. Office 365 Online clearly shows I have it activated on my Windows 10 installation but repeated attempts at reinstalling have not fixed the issue.
Since the Win10 Upgrade fails on my HP DV6 notebook, I decided to do a clean install.
But now, it won't take the Win7 product key for activation!!
I called MS and they told me that a clean-install will NOT activate using Win7 product keys and that I have to purchase a product key.
I got this same story from two different MS reps.
I thought you COULD activate a clean-install using Win7 key using build 10586.
I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64 using the method that everyone knows about by now that was written up on various sites today i.e.:
Ran the Media Creation Tool and upgraded my copy of Window 8.1 Professional with Windows 10 Professional. Looked in Control Panel --> System and it said my copy of Windows was activated. Then I ran the Media Creation Tool again and downloaded the ISO. Burned ISO to DVD. Restarted computer, booted into Windows installer on DVD, customized the install by formatting drive, did a fresh install of Windows 10.
Now when I go into Control Panel --> System it says "Windows not activated". When I click on the Activate Windows icon and click the error details link I get the error code: 0xC004C003.
I should note that the Windows 8 OS came pre-installed on my laptop which I bought brand new. I don't think that matters?
Do I really need to re-install 8.1 to see if it's a software issue? Because before I went to 10, it worked fine. But now in speccy and OpenHardwareMonitor, I am unable to get a reading.
View 5 RepliesI've noticed my PC has stopped receiving multicast traffic. If I boot into safe mode with networking then my application does get multicast..I've disabled ZoneAlarm and Avast and neither of these have made a difference..
View 2 RepliesI had windows 7 installed, upgraded to windows 10, and then created a bootable USB with windows 10 on it. Built a new computer, used the USB to install windows 10 and tried using my code from windows 7 (I was told that it would be associated with my windows 10 account now), and it doesn't work. Should I try calling Microsoft to see if they will activate it for me or what should I do? I just dished out a lot of cash to build this new rig and was hoping I could get away with the free windows 10 since I owned windows 7 and was able to upgrade it and reserve my free upgrade.
View 1 RepliesI have recently updated Windows 10, since then I have taken my computer back to Factory settings, everything worked okay, until I turned off my computer and since then it will not accept the password that I have always used.
View 2 RepliesI was wondering, could we expect from Microsoft to see anything like synchronizing GSM SMS and calls from our phones( for example Win Phone 10, but also and other mobile platforms) with new Windows 10.
Something like features that is available in OSX Yosemite. For example I'm working on Windows 10 on my PC, and someone calls me on my phone and I don't want to get up to reach my phone, instead I just answer from my PC, also for SMS.
I'm very excited for new Microsoft campaign about Windows 10 and all innovation, but I thing that this would be significant omission since they stand out Continuum.
How see call history in Windows 10?
View 1 RepliesWhen I join a skype call, GTA V always goes extremely quiet, so I either increase the volume of my pc so gta is audible and skype deafens me, or I increase gta's volume and still can't hear it. Is there any way to keep gta's volume the same when in a skype call?
View 1 RepliesOnce in a while it seems my computer just freezes an then I get a message pop up an says my remote call procedure failed.

View 1 RepliesI'm getting this error: ... when I try to open any picture (jpeg, gif).
I have followed different forum topics for solutions and so far I:
- Double checked that RPC service is running & on automatic. RPC Locator is not started & on manual
- Previously had some issues with opencl.dll being corrupted, but following Kyhi's suggestions here: Error DISM restorehealth - Windows 10 Forums
.. I managed to fix it (as you can see from the screenshot, the sfc shows no errors anymore)
In the event viewer I get these:
Activation of app Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App failed with error: The remote procedure call failed. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.
[Code] ...
... when I try to open a jpeg file.
Blue Screen hijacked my browsing with high security risk messaging stating error:
oxoooooo7E(0xFFFFFFFFFc00000047,0xFFFFFF800002EB5B48).
The page address bar shows: i-itrafficim.tf and advise to call the number 020-3514-0756
I installed windows 10 about a week back and although its been having a lot of freezes, its otherwise run pretty smoothly, except for today. I haven't had this issue before today but now whenever I go to open a photo using the normal windows photo app i get an error saying "the remote procedure call failed" and it won't open.
View 10 RepliesI am receiving this error when I try to open a image file
The message is: The data area passed to a system call is too small.
Windows 10
When I restart my computer an waiting for everything to load it froze can do nothing then a error message comes up an says the call procedure failed. Ran sfc/scannow came back ok. ran disk check no errors.
View 1 RepliesI have installed Windows 10 64 bit (Direct X 12 included) in my PC and when I try to run COD 4, it gives an error message - "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application.
I have searched in google, there are many tweaks I tried but no result.
I installed it on my Windows XP laptop and it ran but I wasn't able to play because my laptop is old with very old integrated graphics.
Spec - i5 6500, Intel HD 530, 8 GB DDR4.
Ok so i upgraded to Win10 and so far i love it, BUT i keep getting this crash more and more often so my start menu, cortana all stop working it even keeps me from opening any program or even answer a call on skype hell if even crashes my damn task manager THEN it crashes and says CRITICAL_ PROCESS_ DIED.
View 1 RepliesI recently updated to windows 10. I play WoW often and lately when I get a skype call with the game on everything freezes then screen goes black. It's recovered once but typically requires me manually shutting the laptop down. It's an HP and came with 8.1. I bought it new and have had it under a year.
Wanted to add that I can usually hear sound for a while after the screen has gone black. I even continued a skype call for about 3 minutes until the sound cut out too.
Any image that I try to open on my computer will not open and I get the error "The data area passed to a system call is too small" what that means. I had a chat session with Microsoft to no avail.
View 1 RepliesSince installing Windows 10 my video picture is upside down and there is no sound. I can see the other party correctly but neither of us can hear. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10. Windows Media Player works ok. Skype Echo 123 doesn't work.
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded my CPU, Motherboard, Ram, and HDD to SSD. I upgraded my genuine copy of windows 8.1 to windows 10 about 3 weeks prior. I didn't want to install windows 8 all over again only to then have to update to windows 10 right after. So I just cloned my HDD onto my SSD. It worked fine for a day, but now its telling me I need to activate windows.
What do I do, is there any way to activate without having to reinstall windows 8 then upgrade to windows 10? I know my windows 8 product key will not work.
I did the upgrade with the media creation tool - "Upgrade this PC" option and my Windows wasn't activated. Using the "Activate" button gets me a "Windows can't be activated. Try again later" message (I'm on Brazilian Portuguese language, so the actual English message may be a little different).
After some web searching, I tried a variety of slmgr commands that all return error messages saying I'm on a "non-core edition" and none of the slui options give any result (not even errors, they just don't do anything). Clicking on the error detail link on the activation page shows a blank popup.
Product key information shows *****- opposed to *****-XXXXX I've seem in many screenshots of other people having activation problems.
My previous OS was Windows 7 SP1 OEM that came shipped with the laptop and was never formatted (and the hardware was never changed). I kept my personal data while making the upgrade.
Another issue I'm having which I don't know if it is related or not to the activation problems, is that Window Update have tried and failed many many times to install package KB3074683.
For the record, the activation screen was different and I haven't received any message about the system not being activated before creating a Microsoft account in the XBox app (and I still log on the computer with my local account).
How to activate my Windows 10? I'd like to make a clean install but I'm afraid of doing so before my I get my license and not be able to roll back to Win7 if I can't activate it.
I originally got win10 through the free upgrade from 8.1 and did the install that only replaces system files etc. Some things weren't working correctly such as the sleep function and I kept being unable to login due to the start menu and Cortana not starting, so I decided to do a reset of the OS.
I managed to reset and get a fresh install of win10 but now I can't get activation to work. I've run all the windows updates and tried the slmgr.vbs /ato command but it says my product key is blocked.
