Unable To Locate WiFi Sense Settings

Jul 30, 2015

I just upgraded to windows 10 and I am connected to my router via an Ethernet cable and I am unable to locate the WiFi sense settings (probably because im using an ethernet cable  ) I was just wondering if my password was still being shared with other networks even though im hooked up to a ethernet cable. I don't know much about these kinds of things.

Browser/Email :: Unable To Click On Any Link In Outlook 2003 - Locate Link Browser

Aug 20, 2015

After I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?

Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:

On the desktop, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, click Advanced, and then click Edit.In the Actions box, type open.In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer (Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.

WiFi Settings Not Found

Jan 16, 2016

Windows10 - upgraded from W7 a couple of months ago. I have just installed a new modem for my main desktop PC. I had trouble following the setup directions because I can find NO wi-fi settings on my computer. When I went to my Notebook computer, there was a wi-fi icon in the systray which enabled me to choose the necessary network. So for my desktop I just went ahead and set up a new broadband connection. Everything seems OK as it works ie I can connect to wi-fi on my mobile phone and the Notebook but I was not able to physically select available network for my desktop.

I tried to find Wi-fi Sense in my settings but nothing found. I came across the following:

The initial settings for Wi‑Fi Sense are determined by the options you chose when you first set up your PC with Windows 10 or your phone with Windows 10 Mobile. You can change your Wi‑Fi Sense settings any time by selecting Settings > Network & Internet > Wi‑Fi > Manage Wi‑Fi settings on your PC or Settings > Network & wireless > Wi‑Fi > Wi‑Fi Sense on your phone, and then changing one or both of these settings under Wi‑Fi Sense: ..

Networking :: Unable To Connect To WiFi?

Oct 23, 2015

I purchased a new computer running Windows 10 (build 10240) today and have set up the windows. However, it will not allow me to connect to my WiFi. When I use the network option in the task bar, no wifi networks are shown and it says that there are no connections available. When I access the network settings, where the different sections are listed on the left-hand side, WiFi is not an available option.

Updating drivers Deleting drivers and then allowing the computer to reinstall A few different command prompt methods such as resetting the TCP stack, as well as trying some that were for people who upgraded from windows 7/8.

Networking :: No WiFi Option In Network Settings

Aug 8, 2015

I have a Compaq CQ61-410 Notebook. After upgrading to Windows 10 I no longer have WiFi capabilities. In Windows - Settings - Network & Internet I do not have a WiFi option listed. However, if I go to Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections I see my wireless service listed. I have confirmed that I have the correct drivers loaded - Qualcomm Atheros. When I diagnose this connection I get the following message:

There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapterWindows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter.

Networking :: WiFi Priority Over Ethernet - Saving Settings

Oct 30, 2015

I have a kind of big problem with 10 Pro. My problem was "ok" in 8/8.1 Pro. As title says, I would like to give WiFi priority over ethernet. Why ? You may ask, I'm using laptop as a hyper-v machine ( prepare migrations from 2003/2008 to 2012 and others IT Admin things ). I know where to change priority but Settings aren't saved. Even after setting WiFi on top of ladder, after going to the settings again it's 3'rd. That way I have no internet connection because of my VM Networks and their DNS settings.

Networking :: WiFi Settings Tab And Tray Icon Missing?

Feb 10, 2016

It was working day before yesterday.

The Tray icon only shows the network/Ethernet adapter; the wifi icon is missing. Normally I'd click on the wifi icon to connect to wifi networks; that option is not available. Instead I get "Not Connected - No Connections Available." (If I plug in an Ethernet cable, that message goes away. But I need wifi!)

I head into the "Settings" app, choose "Network & Internet", and the topmost tab is "Airplane Mode"; the "Wifi" tab is missing from the Settings app.

I head into the control panel, network and internet, network connections, change adapter settings, and my Wi-Fi adapter is there, enabled, and full green signal strength.

"Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235"

Disabled it and reenabled, didn't work. Rebooting (twice) didn't work. Full power reset (press-hand-hold power button for 5 seconds) and restart didn't work.

Ran network troubleshooter, it says there may be an issue with the wifi adapter's device driver; it tried to fix it but failed. So I manually updated the device driver in the Properties dialog; that seemed to actually install a new driver (based on how long it took) but it didn't work.

I wonder if there was a recent auto-update for this device that's causing a problem? Or is there some way behind the scenes to hook up this device (who's driver seems to be working) with the windows 10 app (which isn't recognizing it)?

Networking :: Unable To View Accounts And Spotty WiFi

Dec 5, 2015

I updated to Windows 10 from 8.1. It was working well until it told me I had to create a new account and password. So I did and now I can use the computer fine and I have now have to login at the beginning which I don't want. I am concerned because when I go to >Settings >Accounts >Your email and accounts .... I get absolutely nothing. Nothing shows up. I want to just start the machine up and not have to login.

I am using bootcamp with a MacPro which could be an issue but I had 8.1 running like a champ with no issues at all. Bootcamp is 5.1.

Also, my wifi connection was fine for a couple of days after the upgrade. I downloaded an automatic update and after that my wifi needs to be troubleshot to connect. Then it drops out after 10 minutes or heavy usage. My wifi had been working flawlessly with 8.1.

Networking :: Unable To Access WiFi Networks When Using USB Adapter

Nov 16, 2015

I've recently upgraded my home PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I've been using a Realtek USB Wi-Fi adapter to connect to the internet. After installing the new OS and running it for the first time, I couldn't connect to my home network.

After reinstalling the drivers supplies by the manufacturer and reattaching the adapter, I attempted to again connect to the network. The "Verifying and connecting" message displayed, but after closing Settings and returning to the same page, all of the Wi-Fi settings have disappeared, like the drivers have crashed.

Drivers/Hardware :: Unable To Specify COM Port In Bluetooth Settings

Jan 25, 2016

Ok so I have a wireless Bluetooth device. It has worked fine connected to a windows 7 and 8 computer. Now I am trying it on 10. For the software I wrote for it to work properly I need to be able to specify which COM port it uses when connecting.

In windows 7 and 8 I would then go to "Bluetooth settings", click "New Connection", and then follow the setup wizard. Here I would be able to set the device to be in Dev mode and specify the COM port to always use. In the new windows 10 "Bluetooth settings" program I can not find a way to do this.

Also I have two different "Bluetooth settings" programs show up in the start menu. One I can open up and it will show my device, but I am unable to do what I mentioned above. The other program with this name has the same icon as what is on my Windows 7 and 8 machines, but gives me the error "unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)"
