Sep 27, 2015since I upgraded my daughter has been unable to login to Movie Star Planet. when she logs in it just hangs and sits there and never loads.

Dec 23, 2015Each time I try to log in to a particular networked computer ( #3) from Computer #4 , a windows security essentials pop up and asks for credentials even though I checked on allowing access without passwords in computer #3 . In any case when I typed in the user name and password for computer ( #3) , I keep getting error indicating wrong user or password. However the reverse from computer #3 to #4 is OK . All my networked computers do not require password and I am not using workgroup or homegroup just simply network shares.

Feb 10, 2016I have just used the SHIFT-Restart option to activate the Windows 10 Troubleshooting and tried to open a command prompt. It asked for a password. I entered my password but was told it was incorrect.
I booted normally using the PIN I normally use, and went through Settings | Accounts | Sign-in options | Change to change my password. In the 'Old password' box I used the same password that had just failed to get me into the boot command prompt and it allowed me to change the password. It said I had successfully changed my password.
If I use SHIFT-Restart again, I still cannot get into the command prompt using the new password.
Am I dealing with two separate passwords here? If so, how do I change the one associated with the boot command prompt?
Note that when trying to boot to the command prompt, the displayed use name appears to be correct - i.e. it is the same one listed when I use my PIN to boot normally.

Aug 4, 2015i've used win 8, and 8.1 since day 1, and have fallen inlove with the zippiness and productivity enhancing start screen. the start menu to me is taking 35 steps back to the 90s. now that i have 10, i want that back, is there an extension or 3rd party vendor who has come up with that?

i want horizontal scrolling, not vertical. its more intuitive. second, i want to scroll with my mouse arrow, not the scroll wheel, i have my mouse set on fastest curser, and i could get to the end of my start screen apps in a quarter of a second, now i have to scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and now my finger is tired. third, the 3-app-wide app-group rule is just asinine. it makes you have to scroll even more because of that in and of itself. 4th, (purely aesthetics) how do i get rid of the taskbar when on the startscreen? it looks dumb.
Missing Language Icon On Lockscreen - Unable To Login
Jan 9, 2016I have configured 2 languages - english and hebrew and set password in hebrew.
However, when trying to change language in lockscreen to login, i am not able to switch to hebrew.
Tried on screen keyboard via easy access but could not switch to hebrew as well.Therefore, i am not able to login now.

Nov 8, 2015I have a Microsoft account set up with a pin. Every time I boot my computer up, I am greeted with the login screen and my photo, with the message below it, "We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later." And it's asking for my password, not my pin. For some reason, I see my username twice on the lower left corner. One is the password log-in, the other is the pin. I can successfully log in with either. I just want to know, what is with the error message? I've got a connection, so I can't figure out why.

Star Menu Tile Lag - Misplaced Cursor For A Few Seconds?
Aug 12, 2015I have for example two tiles pinned to my start menu in this order from top to bottom in one line:

I am a person who selects everything in a blink of an eye so in one seconds, right after i click on start button I already have my mouse cursor on the tile I want to click and click it to open the thing I want to open, takes me 1 maybe 1,5 second to do this task. There is an issue with start menu in w10 over here. There is some weird lag or cursor alligement issue for about 1-2 seconds after you open start menu. When you hover over for example Downloads tile, and your mouse cursor is exactly at the downloads tile, instead one tile above the tile you are hovering is hovered and if i press it that tile will open. So if i hover over Downloads, Documents will hover, and if I click, it will open documents. If I hover over Games tile, it will hover Downloads and if I quickly click like i do usually, it will open Downloads folder instead.
The only workaround for this is to either not move my mouse cursor and wait 5-10 seconds for the cursor placement to hover over the right thing (so when im hovering over Games, it will hover over games after those 5 seconds) or if I am constantly moving my mouse cursor around Games tile, then it will hover over that tile 2 seconds later after my mouse cursor has landed on that tile so I can finally click on it and open what I wanted. It is happening every time I open the start menu: Press start button > Hover over tile I want to open > need to move my mouse curcor around that tile for 1,5 ~ 2 seconds, or not move my cursor and wait 5 seconds for windows to actually select that tile > then I can click it, start menu will close, my thing will open > after I need to use start menu again I have to go through the same thing again...
BSOD :: Crash When Exiting Star Wars The Old Republic
Jan 14, 2016Whenever I exit Star Wars: The Old Republic, my computer crashes, and I get a BSOD with the win32kbase.sys error. I've tried exiting directly from the game, from the start screen, and even force closing through the task manager. It crashes every time without fail. It doesn't crash at all while playing the game, even playing for 4 hours. Just when I exit the game.
I've switched my AV from Bitdefender to Norton, to see if that is the problem. I've uninstalled the Nvidia drivers (with the uninstall tool), then reinstalled the newest. It still crashes.I have to hold the power button to get it off the BSOD, then restart. None of my other games have caused this (that I've encountered).

Movie Maker Only Plays Audio Now
Aug 30, 2015Was running Win 8.1 and WMM worked great. Upgraded to Win 10 and now all I get is audio when trying to edit a video. Tried converting the file to WMV file and got the same result. Audio only, no video. These videos are shot from my phone then transferred onto my laptop. VLC plays them just fine.

I'd like to do some basic editing whether is be with WMM or some other free editing software.
Remove Ability To Play A DVD Movie?
Sep 14, 2015Windows Media Player is still in Windows 10. In Windows 7 and 8, it played a DVD movie. So, I pop in Lord of the Rings, and Windows 10 cannot play DVDs. It can read all the files, but does not have native support for playing a DVD movie with Windows Media Player or any built-in software.
Of course, I download VLC Media Player and watched it, but seriously Microsoft... Why? What is the legitimate reason for removing such a feature like that. It would have required no work to keep it.

Aug 21, 2015I am using the "Cast to Device" option to play my movies on my TV. The problem is that when i play an mkv file the video lags and stutters.
The same video plays fine on the same computer when i use the Samsung Allshare program to stream the video to the TV.
Is Microsoft mkv support in beta stage? Is this a known issue?
Edit: Turns out that the issue affects avi files as well. What can cause this lagging?
