I notice when viewing pages that have a lot of ads with edge they have trouble [slow] loading. I guess it is edge trying to stop all those adds. Oh where is adblock+ and no script when ya need em.
thats right they won't run on edge.
My friend's computer will not load web pages:
1. Google and Yahoo searches do work but
2. Clicking on a search result produces a something like "This page cannot be displayed".
3. The problem goes away in Safe Mode.
4. I have run the following commands in batch mode:
netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
ipconfig /flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int reset resetlog.txt
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
5. Other devices have no problem with the router.
6. I have scanned the computer with Malwarebytes, Windows Defender and Avast.
This happened two weeks ago. almost 30 percent of images on facebook will not load. some web sites or pages will not load, for example [URL] ...... for this site I'm getting SSL connection error ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR in Chrome. I try http and I get a blank page. I tried opening this site on Firefox, Edge and still the same. The same goes for Facebook. I tried on other browsers and still some images wont load. I do not have a third party antivirus/firewall. tried disabling windows defender ( including firewall) and still the same.
I have two VMs , Win 8 and Ubuntu 14.04. everything is working fine on these two VMs. so I'm quite sure something is wrong with my Win 10 but cannot think of anything. I was thinking it is most probably a firewall issue, so I'm posting in Security section.
I am having a very certain issue with edge. It will not open any page related to Google in any way. I can't open Google Plus, the search engine, or even Google Drive. I've looked into the firewall and replaced my hosts file, and I don't know where to go at this point.

View 2 RepliesThe edge browser isn't giving me the option on any web pages to use reading mode. The icon is grayed out....always. Is there some sort of trick or toggle that I'm missing? I just wanted to see how it worked.
View 1 RepliesNoticed that Microsoft Edge being extremely slow in opening applications or loading web pages or is it just me? Sometimes it takes ten to thirty seconds to open webpages with the dreaded spinning circle. It would be a while before I could clean install due to lack of funds but I wonder if it's my 25/25 internet or just edge being the culprit?

Downloaded Windows 10, all seems well except I can not get the browser to come on when I hit the tile. I get a Welcome, where do you want to go. Also I can not find my saved favorite locations.
View 1 RepliesHave a little problem viewing files on my NAS drives.I'll got a couple of NAS drives on my home network that I use for backup, storage and coping files between my computers.Ended up with a windows 10 laptop the other day and I wanted to transfer a file from my desktop to my laptop, so I just dropped the file onto my NAS drive and then turned my laptop and went to the NAS drive to get the file only to find I couldn't see any files on the NAS, only three folders "Pictures" " Music" and "Videos"
Been playing around trying to work it out for the last week but no luck, I tried to copy a file from the laptop to it but I can't do that either.Sure it must be some setting but I can't seem to find it, tried searching but I'm missing the keyword, only finding people with problems seeing there NAS drive.I should add that I can see pictures and music files if I open the "Pictures" or "Music" directory but I can't see another other soft of files (.txt .iso .exe ect).
I have an ACDsee picture viewer that I like to use, but everytime I click on a picture the windows photo viewer shows the picture, how can I stop this and view my picture in ACDsee
View 3 RepliesI recently did a clean install of Windows 10 on my desktop PC and I haven't been able to use the Windows Store ever since. Every time i click on an app in order to download it I get a progress ring for a few seconds and then the store crashes. Settings an Downloads open just fine.
My date and time are correct and I have already tried deleting the AppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalCache folder to no avail. No one on the internet seems to have encountered the exact same problem.
With Windows 8, if I copy files or folders from one disk to another, a window appears which shows the progress. This is very useful. Windows 10 does not show this window. Is there a way to make it appear?
View 3 RepliesEach time i watch a video in Chrome the browser start to behave weird, if i am on the same tab as the video playback and i try to type a word to search or url in URL bar and press enter the browser's loading icon never stops spining and i must close that tab and create a new one and the browser becomes really slow .My theory is:
A) Internet Download Manager may cause the problem
B) Google Account Sync may slow down the browser ???
C) The Avast online security add-on/plugin browser may is causing the problem
I'm trying out the chromecast device to hopefully eliminate having to move my laptop across the room and connect it via hdmi every night to watch movies on my tv screen. In windows 7 I could just drag the file into a new chrome page and it would open the file which could then be cast. Now when I drag a movie file into chrome it creates a download window in the bottom of chrome like any other file download, and then if I open it from that it just opens my default video player and plays the movie file. Any way to view local video files in chrome browser like you could in windows 7?

View 5 RepliesI just got a new Dell computer with Win10. when I minimize a page an icon appears at the bottom of the screen in the taskbar (?) and a thumbnail picture appears at the right side of the screen. I don't want the thumbnails and I haven't found a way to stop them with out stopping all thumbnails. I just don't want minimized pages to show up on my desktop.

I have just got an Epson 2550 and it's printing the first page first so I need to reorder every document. I did their online chat and they said I needed to change settings in powerpoint/word etc - but I can't find anything.
View 9 RepliesI migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I then found that I had access to 3 web browsers - Edge, Chrome and IE 11.
However, whilst I could access web pages from Edge, I could not access those same pages [in fact ANY pages at all] from Chrome or IE. I just got messages saying the pages were not accessible. My immediate suspicion was some sort of firewall problem, so I turned off the firewall, but the problem persisted. I re-installed Chrome, but that made no difference either. I rebooted the PC, but the problem was still there. I also noted that my VOIP phone application was unable to reach the Web.
It seems very odd that one application [Edge] seems to have full Web access, while three others have none at all.
I cannot think of any setting that would deny access to some apps, but not others. I did check the firewall setting for Chrome, and it said it was giving the application full access.
What might be causing this selective denial of Internet access. Does Edge monopolise the access and somehow exclude the others?!
Icons on desktop are all white i cant access my computer all blank pages control panel also all white my documents nothing. So i had to format hdd and clean instal from image backup and same thing!!! this backup image is 1000% clean. i scaned whole computer with malwarebytes, bitdefender, super anti spyware ccleaner, advanced system care no virus of any kind could be hardware issue???

On win 8.1 I was able to move from bottom of web page to top of page (or the reverse) The keys were Fn + left arrow to move to top and Fn + down arrow to move to bottom.

View 2 RepliesI can't get my internet to work properly, on any browser. Most websites will come up with either "408 Request Time-Out", or "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE", "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET", with the request time-out one being the least frequent. But for some reason this does not affect every website. I can still get to youtube and google just fine, and Tumblr too, until just a few minutes ago, and now I can't reach that either. I've already tried clearing my cookies and cashe, reulting in no discernible difference. I don't know what to do.
