View 6 RepliesNot sure how long this has been the case but Edge won't open for me any more. I'm getting the following in Event Viewer:

Tried running a Powershell fix I found
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}
but it made no difference.
My computer shuts down frequently due to the subject error
View 1 RepliesI have an Asus Transformerbook T100TA running Windows 10. I keep getting the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with an error code of KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It usually happens when I have not used the computer in a while and open it back up to use it.
View 1 RepliesI can't install windows 10 on my desktop, every time I try it hands at 84% .
View 1 RepliesThis happens when I exited a game while running Chrome and playing a video at the same time.

This evening I did a clean install after experiencing other problems. I got 10 installed and up and running fine; let me be clear, as far as I know, everything was working just fine. The first thing I installed was Chrome. No sooner had I got Chrome synced with my Google account, I got a BSOD citing "System_Service_Exception (ks.sys)" and it rebooted.
After that, every time it booted back up, within seconds of getting to the login page the same BSOD occurred. I've done some googling and I can't find a report quite like this nor any solution. I'm a big fan of Windows and I do really like 10 when it works, but I'm getting very close to reverting back to 8.1.
I had also plugged in a USB drive around the same time as installing Chrome but did not access it, if that is relevant.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 with MAJOR hassles (BSOD, black screens, freezes, unresponsiveness, etc), so I decided to do a clean install. But during the install, it hanged at the black screen after "getting devices ready." I did a cold boot and got a black screen. The display didn't get a signal since the monitor light stays yellow instead of turning green.
I disconnected the power cord and held the power button down for a few seconds (some discharge static electricity method I found on the web), and reconnected the power cord, and it boot up fine into the Windows setup menu and set up everything fine. After downloading some programs and stuff, I turned off my PC off and booted it up, and I get this same black screen issue. Weird thing is, if I do the same method of holding the power button down and stuff, it boots up fine to the login menu and desktop.
What I've read or something, I should remove the CMOS battery or something, or upgrade the BIOS, etc.
I just bought a new Western Digital 1tb black series HDD today and it started off just fine, installed W10 and started downloading my various programs and games that i use. but shortly after i started i got a BSOD with the error "system_service_exception". I am not sure what caused it but i have minidump files. These are happening every 1.5-2hrs now.
I dont know where i could upload the minidump.
Not sure if this will work but i uploaded it to my dropbox : [URL] ....
I'm getting a bluescreen when gaming on my new GE62 2QD Apache Pro that I just got recently. The bccode is 0x0000009c and is apparently caused by hal.dll and the bug check exception is MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION according to bluescreen view. Not overclocking and I'm on windows 10.
View 1 RepliesSeveral weeks ago I booted my computer and had a bsod on the windows logo. Spent several hours trying to find anything before just nuking and reinstalling. It just happened again and I might cry. Bsod on every boot, including safe mode and automatic repair.
Best guess is it is video driver related, but I can't get in to uninstall. Both times it was the most up to date drivers available. I've disabled the discrete video card via bios. Last time I had to pop out the hd and mount it on my desktop to recover files and wipe.

What is the unexpected_store_exception error and how could I fix it
View 1 RepliesUpgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 recently and it was working fine. This morning when I tried to boot it won't. Stays stuck in a 'your PC ran into a problem' loop and shows a 'system thread exception not handled' error.
I hadn't got a chance to create a recovery disk (the Internet tells me I need this to be able restore without losing my files and data).
I have a Win 7 laptop which I'm typing this on but which hasn't received its Win 10 update so that I can create a recovery disk on it.
I updated to Windows 10 last week from 8.1 on my Samsung laptop. The update went fine but the restart left me with the message "System THread Exception Not Handled". The only way to get my computer to reboot was to restore it to the original 8.1 version.
I am brave so I decided to try the upgrade again this morning following the "must do" steps for after the upgrade as outlined in this article: How to 10 things to do after installing Windows 10 - Microsoft Community
The upgrade went quicker this time but with when restarted I got the same message. The only difference this time is the fact that I had created a new restore point after the upgrade. so I am still in Windows 10. I checked for all the updates, drivers, etc and found nothing new. I am set to reboot at 3:00 am tomorrow and am fearful that I will have the same result again.
While I was on youtube the other day, a random BSOD appeared saying "Unexpected Storage Exception", this is the first time I've ever seen this particular BSOD, but since seeing this error my computer will no longer boot up. The only thing it says when I try to boot it up is "Select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". I have two drives in my pc, a 240 gb PNY ssd that houses my OS and a 2tb seagate hdd, I took out the ssd and put it into an external inclosure to see if the drive had crashed but it shows up on my laptop and doesn't appear to have crashed, so I'm unsure on what to do next.
View 9 RepliesToday I've upgraded win 8.1 on my laptop Acer 5738DG to win10. Whole installation passed w/o issues and upon finalization of installation lappy shutdown itself and each boot end with BSOD "system thread exception not handled".
Even when I'm trying to start clean install from boot-usb it wont load installation but always end up with BSOD.
I migrated to W10pro about a week ago and I must say all went perfectly smooth and well!
Nothing special until this morning.
Using Bitlocker on both partitions, startup and data.
I started up normally, but when unlocking the data disk, on the momento I gave the password en pressed Enter, I was presented with a blue screen telling error:
Kmode exception not handled. fvevol.sys We must restart your pc to............
Pc then rebooted, and after a rather long time (2 minutes) with full HD activity it came up again normally.
When I did the unlocking of data disk, all went well this time.
So, I really don't know if this was just a one time incident or if I should do something to track the real problema behind and solve it. I would like to be assured it won't come back or worse..
Okay so I have been having some blue screen issues. I have tried many troubleshooting solutions but I cannot seem to find out what is causing these issues and I need a hand. Minidump info included in link. Ran memtest today with 8 passes 0 Errors.
View 8 RepliesI get this BSOD while unlocking storage drives. My OS is on a Vertex 4 SSD My storage drives are on HDD. I would say I have 50% chance of a BSOD unlocking drives.
View 3 RepliesDownloaded the free Windows 10 upgrade on computer running Windows 7. Am now stuck in the above error loop. I have read the answer that requires a reboot disc and of course do not have one. I've tried reset with no success, and various troubleshooting options with likewise. Don't know much about computers, how to get back to windows 7? The system restore and go back to previous build options don't work either.
View 11 RepliesI kept getting encouragements from Microsoft and IT guys to upgrade to Windows 10. Unfortunately, I did not check with Dell whether they recommend the upgrade. It turns out that Dell does not recommend my model (XPS 8500) to be upgraded to Windows 10.
I went through the upgrade 2 days ago and yesterday I ended up with "System Thread Exception Not Handled" error. One of the solutions for resolving this error, after much googling, is to download Win 10 drivers from Dell. Well, that's how I found that Dell doesn't recommend it. There are no drivers. Here's exactly what Dell says:
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade.Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.I' stuck in a loop with this error message and can't load. How would I undo the upgrade? I get the feeling if I choose to stay with Win 10, I would be beset by a slew of compatibility issues which I would rather not encounter.
My Specs::
(1) Dell XPS 8500; 3.4 GHz; 12 Gb RAM; 64-bit OS; 2 Tb HD
(2) Windows 8.1 2013; Kaspersky Total Security 2015 15.0.1.415©.
Windows 10 system thread exception not handled error, then it tries to restart because of the fault but instead it shuts down, then if you switch it on again it tries to start for a while but goes off, no way event if you keep on doing that.
View 1 RepliesI recently installed a new hard drive into my system. It began to crash with the System_Service_Exception error. I decided that since I was going to reinstall windows on a SSD anyways, I might as well do it now. So I reinstalled windows on a solid state and everything was fine for a day until it started crashing again. I am really not sure what to do as I do not know much about blue screens and stuff. View 9 RepliesSo far I've gotten it twice. Before I go through the work of returning and getting a new one I'm hoping it's an easy fix.
MSI-GE62-Fri_12_04_2015_235130_46.zip
Started having BSOD/reboot problem yesterday. It seems to happen when the computer is idle and getting ready to turn off peripherals to enter sleep mode.
I uploaded the error log...
Not sure what happened. Bad Windows update perhaps?
I ran sfc /scannow and it didn't find any issues. I also ran the power troubleshooter and it didn't find anything.
Been recently encountering BSoDs with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED when gaming, specifically the open beta of Monster Hunter Online. Happens after around 2 hours or so. Doesn't happen with other games and has not happened before.
Attached my minidump and required information.
