I use my computer in a business. For one of our companies I have to use Internet explorer. When I go to the form I want it takes me to the edge browser for some reason and it not typeable. The other two computers in our office work just fine.

Whenever I start to type in the search field, I never get to finish typing because explorer opens a new window right away after the first character.
EDIT: Also, double clicking folders opens a new window as well.
every time I double-click a folder in Windows Explorer, it opens in a new window. I know there have been problems on this in earlier versions of Windows.The ONLY time a folder opens in a new window, is when the folder is located in the PICTURES folder. On some occurrences, the folder I'm clicking is opening twice.
Another strange thing I noticed, is when I delete something. When I used to delete something, the folder would automatically update and remove the file without me needing to do anything. There are now currently 3 windows openI close the two windows, and redirect into the MUSIC folder.I double-click a folder in MUSIC and the folder opens in the same window.
I am on Win 10 and can only access the internet with Firefox. When I try to connect with Edge I get the error message "Hmmm, we can't reach this page" and if I try through Internet Explorer I get "This page can’t be displayed". Chrome seems to work along with Firefox, but both will freeze quite often.
View 1 RepliesThe Edge browser, which is working fine in most respects, keeps offering to build a Favorites list by importing the Favorites from Internet Explorer. When I accept, Edge indicates that it is importing the data, but when I look at the Favorites in Edge, there are only folders, no URLs. I know the Favorites list is OK in IE because I have transferred it to Chrome and to Firefox without difficulty.

When I start any program its window appears in background - behind others. Even it is the first program I start its windows is not active and I need to click it to make active.
That issue appeared when I was with Windows 8.1 and after upgrade to Windows 10 remains. What I have tried - changing the register value of ForegroundLockTimeout to 0 but it didn't work.
When I am typing text into just about any program, frequently and annoyingly, when I type a t, a new window opens, and never the same one. I have to click on my previous window and put the curser back where I was. It happened in Win 7 and still in Win 10. How do I stop this?

None of the apps open - they display a message "element not found" for explorer exe or for other things like chrome, ms word you click on it and nothing happens. Can't even turn off the computer (start > turn off just does nothing) I've tried pressing the power button on my PC but that just seems to put it into sleep mode and not properly restart it.

Restarting and clearing all data did not work.

View 2 RepliesI think after one of the accumulative updates Windows Explorer started to open MSN in my default browser. This is very annoying.
I've tested my theory by restarting Windows Explorer from the task manager. Of course restarting the computer. Disable Automatic startup of Microsoft OneDrive. I scanned my System with Malwarebytes, nothing was found.
When i try to open pinned items from the explorer icon in the taskbar windows command processor opens with UAC and asks if the app? may do changes to the system..If i click yes or no nothing happens; i think of a setting somewhere but until now i have not found out..

View 4 RepliesOne of my computers is currently running Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 build 10586.71 and I've recently been having a very strange problem: Despite the fact that all my autoplay options for DVD's and Blu-ray's are set to "Do nothing" almost every time I insert a DVD or Blu-ray disc an Explorer window opens to the DVD drive, the disc is ejected and a dialog that says "Insert disc" appears. If I'm persistent enough and insert it 15 or 20 times it'll stop and the disc isn't ejected and I can open it with either VLC or another software player. This problem is not just a single disc but multiple DVD and blue-ray movies, the discs are clean and play just fine in other Windows 7 and 10 computers as well as standalone Blu-Ray players.
I've looked around and I only found one thread with one other person complaining about this problem (from back in September 2015) and he said it went away after some Windows updates.
The image says by itself .. When I try to put it to the very edge, it snaps it away a little .. Is there a setting or something to turn this thing off? Noticed this problem just with skype, not anything else ..
View 2 RepliesIn IE, there was a setting to open links (e.g., ones selected by shift-clicking, or ones with a target attribute in the anchor tag) into a new window instead of a new tab. I can't find a way to do this in Edge - in general, the number of user-adjustable settings seems to be MUCH smaller in Edge. Is there a way?

I've checked in the settings, but it doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for. MY IE doesn't function as well as Edge and I'd like to correct this.

View 1 Replieswhen I open a folder to browse the files and say I want to copy/delete a particular file, then the confirmation dialog box is hiding behind the main explorer window, so I have to minimize explorer in order to click ok or the appropriate action that is needed.
View 6 RepliesSo I upgraded to Win 10 and so far I like it, but a problem which I find annoying:
Whenever I open file explorer the window tends to move from where I placed it. What I mean is I place the window directly in the center, as I like it. When I open it again, it will be displayed at the very top of the screen. When I close it and open it again it will be displayed at the bottom of the screen on the left. The window seems to change places every time it is opened.
Nothing major, but I am OCD about keeping windows centered and organized haha so is there a way to keep the window in one spot? Is this a bug or is this supposed to happen?
